The fashion shows always get my mind racing with fresh ideas to update my wardrobe. It’s easy to fall into routine of what you wear to work and out at night…and everything in between. But keeping “au courant” doesn’t necessarily have to break the bank. You just gotta know what works on you!
Remember heading to the U.S. and shopping at stores like EXPRESS? As a teen I loved shopping there. But they’ve changed and they are making their style mark here in Canada. (psst…they are opening up soon in the Eaton Centre, Toronto!). Somehow, EXPRESS has become a little more sophisticated, a little more grown up and definitely more stylish. Super spot to pick up a few fun dresses for the upcoming holiday season! Also, check out their career wear, casual wear and denim lines.
EXPRESS totally rocked the runway at the recent Toronto World MasterCard Fashion Week as well as hosting an awesome afterparty with the band DRAGONETTE. During the day, media and style influencers were invited for a sneak peek of the holiday and spring collections at the EXPRESS Style Suite inside the gorgeous Ritz Carlton Hotel. We discovered that peplums will continue as a strong trend for both seasons in bright hues like fuschia and royal blue. The “feminine with an edge” look is an easy trend that translates well for any age. There were plenty of looks shown in winter whites and champagne tints are a great way to stand out from the sea of LBDs at any party! Also noted in the collections were wider belts that were shown on dresses. And both men and women can have fun still with the coloured jeans trends. The trend of bold patterned and coloured socks for men is one I adore – a great way for guys to show their individuality even on Bay Street!
