Friends may come and go throughout a lifetime, but family remains constant.
For the lucky among us with strong and happy families, the relationships are a source of strength, support and happy memories. And even though nobody can infuriate you quite like your siblings can, you know that nobody has your back in quite the same ferocious way when the chips are down.
One of the sweetest and best family relationships is between cousins. Not quite siblings, but so much more than friends.
You might see each other once a week or once a year, but always — after the first few moments of shyness — you settle into a comfortable and close camaraderie unlike any other.
Cousin-fun can span generations, too.
There’s an adage about friendship: “friends for a a reason, friends for a season, friends for a lifetime.” That’s the wonderful thing about cousins. You have them for a reason, you see them at different seasons, you keep them for a lifetime.

so true! my 9 year old daughter wouldn’t so much as look at any “boy-type person” but her and her 6 year old (boy!) cousin are inseparable once a year 🙂
