It all started back in December when Eva received a rotating princess lamp for Christmas.
She loved it but we couldn’t find “the right” spot for it in her room for it.
From then on my mission was to find a cute nightstand for her beloved lamp that would match her room. I figured it would be an easy find.
Not so much.
The ones I found in the stores were way beyond what I was willing to spend and I couldn’t find one anywhere second hand.

Until this past weekend.
Friends of ours had a garage sale and had 2 white nightstands that were hers when she was a little girl and they were kind enough to give them to us.

Sean brought them home and I loved them but they needed a little refreshing – which made me nervous.
The last time I tried refinishing a table it ended up with a bunch of mosquitoes dried into the varnish. Needless to say we never ate off of that table…I guess I’m older and wiser (and maybe a little more patient) because I think I did a pretty good job. What to you think?
Before(ish) – I had already done one coat of white primer
A new coat of white, a fresh coat of purple on the drawers, a new yellow top and simple white knobs that match her dresser.
This is about as far as my DIY skills take me and I’m quite happy with it.How ’bout you? What are your DIY skills like? Are you creative and crafty?

Love it! I’m someone who is always *willing* to take on a project, but projects around my house tend to get about 95% done and then sit forever. 🙁

Looks good, mama, and I’ll bet she LOVES it! There’s nothing like styling up something “found” like this – that’s excellent!!
