If September’s rapid approach sends you cowering under the covers in denial, we’ve got a little something that might put some pep in your step come the new school year.
Dwayne Reed, aka the best new teacher on the planet, just made a video welcoming his prospective student to the 4th grade. And it’s no surprise that it’s quickly gone viral.
The Chicago public school teacher will be heading to the classroom for his inaugural year, and raps “It’s my first year teaching, so it’s all real exciting. Got some ideas and I’d really like to try them”.
According to The Root, Reed will be teaching at the Jane Stenson Elementary School and, if his rapping is anything to go by, his students can look forward to plenty more entertainment throughout the school year.
“Making songs to remember what you hear” Reed teases, as he raps in the slickly produced video in front of a recording microphone, promising that “we’re gonna have a good time”.
We’d love to be a mom or dad at parent-teacher night with Mr. Reed!
And if teaching doesn’t work out for Reed, we think he’s definitely got a career in showbusiness to fall back on.
