I was chatting with a colleague the other afternoon about how our use of Facebook has changed over the years. What with ads and recommended pages and the degradation of even the suggestion of privacy, we just don’t share the same kinds of things we felt comfortable sharing on Facebook just a few years ago.
Which is sad, but on the other hand if I’m posting less, I’m certainly not reading less. And I’m not ready to give it up, because I do still get quite a bit of enjoyment out of my Facebook. I personally love my daily dose of George Takei, whose sense of humour and uncanny ability to find le mot juste in his captions makes me laugh out loud. But George is not alone in his meme offerings, and I find that I look forward to that ten minutes or so every morning when I browse through my news feed and if I’m lucky, catch a funny ecard meme.
