Our city is teeming with incredible artists and there is no shortage of shows where you can find them. The Artist Project puts you face to face with more than 250 juried and independent contemporary artists and it starts this week.
From February 21 to 24 the public can visit and explore the works various Canadian and international artists. You’ll discover art in various disciplines from digital high-tech to low touch collections and installations. This show brings the personal connection with artists and art enthusiasts.

I’m looking forward to checking out the Faces Competition where the artists have been challenged to create a piece of art based on their interpretation of the theme, Faces. Visitors can vote for their favourite entry in the People’s Choice Award.
There will also be Art Chats – a series of seminars hosted by leading art and design experts, including Manny Neubacher & Anya Shor’s “What to Look For When Collecting Art by Emerging Artists” and Stephen Bulger’s “Photography: Collecting 101”
The Untapped Emerging Artists Competition is dedicated to supporting the development of emerging artists through a juried compeititon. It awards artists FREE space at the exhibition and showcase their work to gallerists, collectors and art enthusiasts.
NEW this year is the Uptown/Downtown Hotel Art Tours. Get an exciting exclusive tour of the art collections at the Shangri-La Hotel and The Hazelton Hotel. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

This is one artist that I love. Kate Taylor is a familiar face in Toronto and I’ve exhibited in a couple shows with her in the past. Her work in mixed media shows abstract landscapes and seascapes are created with palette knives in bold colours with great emotion.
