Sunday night was a goldmine on TV. I really should have been live blogging. There were the Much Music Video Awards; Daytime Emmy Awards AND the Miss USA Pageant (what a great Father’s Day …US Open and then Miss USA).
It hit me though….If I’m going to celeb blog AND better yet LIVE blog for you guys – I better up my cable package! So sorry – a day late….but a few thoughts.
First off – US Open….oh wait do you care? It was Rory McIlroy – he killed it. The new Tiger without a taste for hookers (that we know of yet). Then Miss USA. It was Miss California – Alyssa Campanella. I won’t lie – I turned it off when I read that one contestants ‘Passion” was manicures…(no I’m not joking). I did watch the introduction of all of them though – you know when they walk up in their micro minis long gowns and calmly screech say the name of their state at the top of their lungs, all the while holding a very uncomfortable, I just pooped my pants, pose. Beautiful, smart girls absolutely. But really? I’m not a hard core feminist but I think it’s time to put it to bed. They’re going to run out of retired football players to judge soon anyway.
Onto the Daytime Emmy Awards. Y&R not named best drama. Boo….look out Victor Newman will give you the stare and turn you to ice. Umm Lauren Fenmore…those are some strategically placed Jabot cosmetic boxes!! Oprah got some massive award. But the big news – Regis and Kelly finally win the Emmy as best talk show host together (tied with Dr. Oz…because how can you compete with a stage full of intestines and quizzes on sex drives??).
But it was really Toronto’s night. The streets were shut down and some insane people rabid fans waited for over a week to get a good seat for the MuchMusic Video Awards. What would you wait a week outside to see? Hmmm…nope, can’t think of anything…I’m refraining from another John Cusack comment lest you think I’m a stalker. ANYWAY. Their wait was rewarded, apparently Lady Gaga spent a ton of time with her fans…and the Biebs showed up to support his girlfriend, Selena Gomez. Everyone now …. awwwwwwwwwwwwww. I remember watching my high school boyfriend sing in a basement in Etobicoke with his band…not quite the MMVAs but I get why the Biebs wanted to be there. Young love. I can’t even be snarky about it. I sort of think it’s adorable and I feel bad that they have to play it out in public.
The Sheepdogs were at the MMVAs as well. You know what I love about these guys (besides their music?) ….when I look at this picture, I see my hair in all of its summer states (left to right)…massively huge, hat head, pool flat and meh..half decent.
I merely usually do not find get this particular “Bieber Fever”? I speculate it proves using the actual accurate promoting any organisation can easily end up being a celebrity. Naturally I know he’s labored a lot to acquire where he is.

I was hoping that Miss Colorado would make it further in the competition. Seeing how she’s HOMELESS and all…but whatever…at least a ginger won.

Love the hair analogy! I can totally relate. Plus, Rory Mc seems to be a total doll. I really hope he isn’t hiding some Tiger-ness.
When I saw “Miss America Pageant” in the TV Guide line-up, my mouth fell open. I think I always forget that such a thing exists… and that “Tantrums & Tiaras” is just a parody of pretend people playing obscene dress-up with their spray-tanned kids… I mean, really. 😉
