Who needs lunch boxes? Not this mom, that’s for sure.
Christy Kilgore, a graphic designer, personalizes her children’s lunches by packing them in beautifully illustrated brown bags with drawings she does herself. The mother of two recently shared her lunch bag art on Reddit, impressing fellow redditors with her awesome art skills.
Kilgore says she’s been doing lunch bag art everyday for about a year, simply using coloured pencils, Sharpies and Crayola markers. Many of the lunch bags feature characters from popular children’s movies or original designs she comes up with herself. Each one takes an hour to make, both of which are personalized for her children Ethan and Norah. The recently divorced mom said doing this for her kids is a “nice way to stay connected to them” especially when they’re not together.
Now with so much time and dedication put into these little works of art, you’ll be happy to know that most lunch bags don’t actually end up in the trash. Phew! “Most make it home. Some don’t. I flat out told them to throw them away but they usually like to save them,” Kilgore told redditors.
Her fun lunch bags have been such a hit that last year, her children took a bunch of her lunch bags to school and let their friends pick out the ones they liked. Sharing is caring, ya’ll!
Honestly, if her lunch bags look this good, we can’t imagine what she’s packing them for lunch. But enough about that, check out her masterpieces for yourself!
