Kids just aren’t all that impressed with President Barak Obama these days. First we had that boy do a full on face-plant into his sofa at the White House (because why not) and now this.
On Thursday, President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama visited an elementary school in Washington for a charity event. The two were there to commemorate September 11 as a national day of service, by helping stuff backpacks with supplies for homeless children.
You know, when the President comes to your school, that’s pretty cool, right? That sort of thing just doesn’t happen everyday. Well, one student wasn’t so impressed with his appearance.
At the event, Madison, a grade six student, made a confession to the President, telling him “I really wanted to see Beyonce.” Obama, being the cool and collected guy that he is, understood her disappointment and replied, “Malia and Sasha would feel the same way.”
Okay Madison, valid point. When your school tells you a very famous, special guest is coming in, you can only hope it would be Queen Bey. And the fact that it wasn’t, I’d be pretty disappointed too. But hey, having the President come in isn’t so bad, right?Right, and Madison let him know.
“But then I realized it was going to be you and that’s even better,” she told him.
“I appreciate you saying that in front of the press,” Obama said. “I know it’s not really true.”
He’s right, it’s probably not. Because even Obama knows that if you had to choose between Beyonce and any other human being on the planet, you would choose Beyonce almost every time. And frankly First Lady Michelle agrees. “I’d rather see Beyoncé,” she said, siding with Madison.
All hail Queen Bey!
