One of my favourite things about cottage life is the mix of people who come and go and all their influence and stories on me and my family.

The sun came out with a ferocity and heat  this afternoon, after pure cloud all day.

As I ran down to the lake, I shouted out to everyone ” you will regret it your whole life if you don’t go swimming right now”

Wonderful 73 year old family friend from Little Rock Arkansas, shouts back with her southern peach drawl, without missing a beat- ” I forgot my bathingsuit – you will regret it your whole life if I do go swimming “
