I do like a little bit of irony
Here I am getting my 50 shades of grey coloured
While I am reading Fifty Shades of Grey
I love the cliche of the heat bonnet and the dirty book, there is something very 60’s about it all – only I am holding it up high like why hide it? Even though I know every second person in this North Toronto salon. It is just a book and yet it is one of the most tablet read books because everyone wants to hide that they are reading it.
I was thinking about how my old friend from Vancouver called me the other day to say she was mortified because her teenage daughters found the trilogy beside her bed
I wasn’t very sympathetic to her embarrassement
Were you mortified because they see you as a literary giant and this stuff is crap?
Aren’t we supposed to enjoy both great and healthy food but some junk food too?
Oh you were embarrassed because it is so steamy, quite S&M and dirty?
Really? Is getting caught reading this stuff the same as getting caught having sex in handcuffs, blindfolded with S&M toys everywhere?
No.
Who cares?
In fact, isn’t it good to perpetuate the notion that we are still alive below the belt?

I love this pic, lady…
And I was only embarrassed reading it because it’s kinda crappy… but in the best possible way. 😉 ENJOY!!

I just went to Chapters and bought the Taking of Sleeping Beauty or something ….and the guy at the cash was hot…at first I was humiliated and then I though…NOPE!
Julie says
still don’t know if i want to crack the spine on this one or not…what to do, what to do…
Sonya says
Good on you Nancy! I took the book on the subway. Opened it up and started reading it with cover in full view but honestly, no one even noticed! I felt a little let down that it didn’t even trigger a smirk. 😉 happy reading!
