Hey- that’s me

March 12, 2012 by Nancy

After travelling several and I mean upwards of a dozen hours, we arrived at the Tampa airport to this man waiting for me

I was a bit delirious from many hours in cars, shuttles and planes and a very busy term, so I may have screamed when I saw him and his sign
“Hey, that is me”
“Am I picking you up?”
I could not resist the double meaning of this-
“No and No” I said smiling.
“But you have to understand that is my name! And I just took it back recently and I am divorced and that is my full name, correct spelling and all. Do you not love it! I have to take your picture.
He looked at me not at all impressed with the irony of this moment for me and said
“Could you move out of the way so the Nancy Macdonald I am waiting for can see me and the sign?”

I could not resist waiting for my doppelganger.
She was 4’11, maybe 75 years old with red spiky hair and an overbite. It was like looking in the mirror.

What a funny coincidence! It’s unfortunate that he didn’t share your sense of humor. His loss! Enjoy your holiday:)
