A friend’s mom finally got her eyewear prescription filled, put on her glasses, looked adoringly into a mirror and screamed.
She thought she was much better looking/ much younger than that.
She had seen herself a little fuzzy, softened by her failing eyesight.
This made me laugh as I have long subscribed to the idea of seeing myself and my life much better than it might be given another set of ‘lenses’. I refer to it as rounding up and rounding down.
This attitude, a bit of luck, furious blind and overt passion, a healthy dose of delusion and a positive spin are all we really need to make our lives great.
Or at least our day better.
