Taking it off!

April 10, 2012 by Sara

The big news in Hollywood this weekend was all about Anne Hathaway’s hair.  Good god – it even got an entire minute long segment on ENews.

I LOVE IT!  She chopped off her gorgeous long locks to play Fantine in Les Mis.  Now…let me tell you.  If I was to be diagnosed with a non-treatable form of cancer and was given a month to live, I would find a touring company of Les Mis and beg them to let me play Fantine (and then her daughter Eponine in the second act) as my dying wish.  I’m serious!
Check out this version….you should hear me let loose on ‘…but the tigers come at night….’ when I’m in the car.  I bring myself to tears.  (she chuckles)
But good for Annie for chopping off the hair and not just going for the wig. I think she looks beautiful. I did it about ten years ago…and as ridiculous as it sounds, it’s extremely difficult to chop it off.  Go to my latest DIY blog to see it..I couldn’t pull it off like Anne or I would go back to it in a second though!

Anne Hathaway is going in my dream girl posse of Hollywood stars for not caving to vanity and chopping it off.  So Annie – Sandy Bullock, Rachel McAdams, Mandy Moore and I will meet you in Cabo.  Call me.

Good for you Christina – it will look great. And when you do it for a reason….it’s much easier..I cut mine when my mom lost her hair. Your sister will love it.

yup my bad. I still want to play Eponine though…I always found Cosette sort of whiney for some reason!

Thanks for posting the song! I haven’t heard it in years and yet I was able to sing along to every word. (Badly, but at the top of my lungs of course…)

Eponine wasnt Fantine’s daugher. Cossette is.
Eponine is the girl that Cossette grew up along side. Fantine left Cossette with Eponine’s family.
In young adulthood cossette and eponine were both in love with the same person.

Well, you know I’m your Huckleberry… heh. I left my vanity at the barbershop a bunch of years ago, and I never looked back.
I think she looks terrific. It’s probably a good thing to try, once in your life – cutting long locks off, I mean. Good for her for being so committed to the role!!
And gosh, I love singing that song too. *shivers*
