Rosario Dawson Adopts A 12-Year-Old Girl

December 3, 2014 by Marianne Litman 1 Comment

We hear about celebrities adopting children quite often. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt did it multiple times; Meg Ryan adopted Daisy True from China in 2006; Katherine Heigl adopted Naliegh with husband Josh Kelley in 2009; Charlize Theorn adopted a baby boy and has kept the details private; Kristin Davis adopted a girl, Gemma Rose, back in 2011.

It is a wonderful thing, to give a child a chance to have a happy, stable family life. It is an amazing gift.

Actress Rosario Dawson adopted a child back in October, but unlike most people, Dawson adopted a 12-year-old.

Dawson has not commented yet on the adoption, but she herself was adopted by her stepfather and back in 2008 she told Latina magazine that she planned to adopt eventually.

While we wait to hear more about the reasons behind this adoption, we are so happy for the newly expanded Dawson family.

There are some things you should never say to adoptive parents, but we think congratulations is okay! So congrats, Rosario!

my friend adopted and older child as well. unfortunately, they said that there were so many as a lot of families want a much younger baby and the older the child gets, the promise of a permanent home is just a dream.
