I have a few TV memories of growing up…
1. Watching old King Kong movies in my basement and my cousin David making up the words as to what the ape would be saying;
2. Watching Scooby Doo and having my brother chase me around after…scaring me so badly I called 9-1-1;
3. Watching Saturday night back to backs of Love Boat and Fantasy Island…lying on my parents floor with the king sized pillow folded in half and my feet on the tv stand; and
AMERICAN BANDSTAND!!!
Dick Clark passed away today at the age of 82. If you didn’t watch – I encourage you to go through YouTube and watch old clips. The music, the fashion…everything was SO representative of when the show was on! What didn’t change??? Dick Clark. The man never aged until recently when he suffered a stroke. It’s reported that he suffered a heart attack today. What an incredibly successful career and I’m sure Bandstand is burned into many people’s memories…just like mine.
Enjoy a couple good ones….
I SO REMEMBER THIS ONE!!!!!
THE DANCING – SO AMAZING! HOW MANY PICKS WERE IN BACK POCKETS??
RIP Dick Clark….You’ll be missed sir.
