Jennifer Lopez Opens Up About Being A Single Mom

September 3, 2014 by Marianne Litman 1 Comment

Singer Jennifer Lopez is on the cover of Elle UK for their October issue and she is opening up about life as a single mom to her 6-year-old twins Max and Emme.

Lopez talks about her own upbringing as being very traditional and that being a single mom is not easy. “It takes two people to make a kid for a reason,” she says. And while the pop star wanted nothing more than to keep her family together, she acknowledged that when her and Marc couldn’t make it work it was all about the kids: “how do we make this great for the children anyway?”

Like many single mothers, Lopez realizes that it takes a village to raise a child, let alone twins! She relies on her family to help keep her household running smoothly and says that it is not out of the norm for her mother, aunts, uncles and cousins to be around helping with the twins.

And while she is a single mom now, Lopez hasn’t given up on love just yet. “Every single album I have ever made is about love. But I am not going to give up. I’ve got hope that if I keep going, I will eventually get it right.”

Elle UK hits newsstands September 4th!

i’m kind of over millionaires going on about being a single mom….i have friends who are single moms…they are single without an army of help and a bankroll the size of a small, offshore island. maybe i’m just cynical but there it is.
