The rumours have been swirling for a couple of weeks and they’re now at a boiling point. Have Miley Cyrus (20) and Liam Hemsworth (23) broken off their engagement?
The clues:
– Miley appeared without her engagement ring on multiple occasions
– Liam has been spending time with his brother in Australia with no definite date of return
– Liam was seen flirting with actress Emma Watson on Oscar weekend
– Liam was seen leaving a party with Mad Men actress January Jones
– There have been no denials of these rumours since Miley’s tweet on March 6th. Usually by this point, a publicist for the couple would be chiming in
And now, Page Six is reporting that the couple have all but broken up. It’s Miley who is refusing to accept the obvious. Sources quoted in the article say:
“Miley and Liam are done; it’s over. She likes to party really hard and can be pretty wild. It became a problem for him.”
“They have broken up before, and are broken up again now. There was drama because she suspected he had a wandering eye. And she recently tweeted a denial at he cheated.”
The denial in reference came on March 6th when Miley tweeted:
Well, what can I say? While there’s been no official confirmation, it’s not looking good for these two now is it?
What were the odds, really that at that age it would work? The couple became engaged last May when Miley was just 19. Think of who you were dating at 19 and imagine getting engaged to them. On top of that, imagine you are both rich, famous, and surrounded by beautiful people – while being apart for extended periods of time. Stuff is bound to happen. It just is.
Maybe it’s better this way.
