I absolutely love the fact that Canada is being recognized finally and that our girls can be proud to be Canadian. My daughters are highland dancers and it was so hard to find a highland dance outfit for their dolls, but now there is one!!! We are tickled pink that Maplea Dolls have different cultures so that you can show off your nationality! Awesome job!

I’m proud to be Canadian and living in Ontario Canada .I find Canadians proud and caring people .Willing to give a helping hand to people in other countries and even to their next neighbors who they may not know .To small children ,families that are in need of a helping hand. I know first hand because my granddaughter lose both of parents in auto accident 6years ago and people from all over were there to give a helping hand or kind word to help her thorough it . Not only do we have beautiful people here in Canada ,we have beautiful provinces that do not compare to any other countries in my eyes .From mountian ,wheat fields to lakes and rivers ,from small towns to big cities ,Canada has everything and more. beautiful West Coast, what are we…..chopped liver! I will not buy one of these

Canada is the best because you can drive for days and never see the same thing twice. You can start your travels, by one of our beautiful oceans and end off in prarie or mountains etc. There is something for everyone and everyone to help each other. In our many medical travels for our little girl (who is turning 6) we have met many great people from coast to coast. There are many differences depending on where you are. But one thing stays true. Everyone knows, Canada is the BEST!
Just to add… my daughter also loves her Jenna doll and I LOVE the company. They make an amazing QUALITY product and stand behind it with a no nonsense approach to customer service. One little email from me and the company took care of things. No hoops to jump through, no referrals to another department! The HUGE multi-national companies should take a page from this company’s approach to customer service and making a quality product. MapleLea ROCKS!

I love Canada for it’s healthcare system, our healthcare system is one of the best in the world. Canada’s healthcare is saving lives everyday and extending life expectancy for our children and grandchildren. What a fantastic country we live in, that offers affordable healthcare to all its citizens!
I am so proud to be a Canadian. I am also thankful that I get to raise my children in this amazing country. I have travelled to other countries and am always so amazed at how well received Canadians are. I enjoy teaching my daughters to appreciate and embrace the many cultures that make up our country. It is so wonderful to see a line of dolls that captures this.
As a mother I want to educate my daughter our unique Canadian history. I look back at our ancestors. Our ancestors struggled and persevered for the freedom we have today. We are free therefore I love Canada.

I am not Canadian. I am actually from the states. I just wanted to say we have three of those dolls and my daughter loves them. She prefers them to American Girl. Sometimes I think I am nuts for importing a doll for my kid. But they give her so much joy. I would love to take her to Canadian one day to see the country in person.

None are from huge urban centers, which is a unique statement in a world where the urban landscape seems to be thought somehow preferable to the rural. What I love about Canada is how vast we are – we now have family on Prince Edward Island and on Vancouver Island; with my husband and I in Toronto. We can visit cousins in Edmonton or Vancouver. Uncles and Aunts in Mississauga or Burlington. Good friends in Terrace BC or Halifax NS. A running friend in the NWT and another in Sask. Oh the party we’d have if we could all get together.
I love the natural beauty of Canada and the way it is preserved for all of us to enjoy in the national and provincial parks. We don’t have to travel far to enjoy these parks since they are spread throughout our country.
Freedom. I love Canada because if gives us all the perfect freedom to enjoy all the beautiful things that it offers. I am especially proud of all the opportunities that girls can have. Coming from a Chinese background, this means a lot to me. Nothing held me back from gaining a higher education, becoming a professional, or even serving in the armed forces as a tank driver (other than hard work). I truly hope that my 3 young daughters can enjoy the freedoms that Canada has to offer without discrimination, just as I have.

I find Canadians to be very open and friendly. I would never live in the U.S.
I love the ease of getting out into the wilderness, the multitude of trails to walk on & the wildlife I’ve seen over the years. I love the colours of Canada, the reds and oranges of fall, the beautiful white winter snow (though sometimes daunting), the tulips in the spring along the Ottawa Canal and the blues of Georgian Bay in the summer.

What I love about being Canadian is that we have mixed heratige in us. It makes it harder for us to discriminate against oneanother because of our interratial backgrounds. Maybe in part thats why we are known as the “peaceful country”. We have more acceptance to eachother and every color. I like to think of Canadians as rainbows of people and with that comes rainbows of personalities. I really love how each doll is different and represents our “colorfullness” in people. There are tons of reasons I love being Canadian. the safety/security, medical, education, freedom, vast regions to move to. My daughter has oohed and ahhed over the maplea dolls for a couple years now – we get them with chidren’s magazines. it is great their is a truly canadian doll that reflects our interests. I would love to be able to give her one of them. Espcially since her name is the same as one of the dolls!
I love being a Canadian for many reasons…number one being the fact that we live in a country that represents freedom. We can lay our heads down at night and feel at peace, not having to worry about where our next meal is coming from. We have clothing on our backs and a roof over our head. We can walk in our communities and not have to worry about the things that many other countries are experiencing today. We are truly blessed to live in Canada.

What a wonderful twin to the American Girl.
Canada is wonderful with all its great contributions to the world eg medical research, literary greats, artistic greats to name a few.
My girls have these dolls (Leonie and Alexi) and they play with them all the time. I like that they come from Canada and that it gives girls more time to be little girls – my 9 year old who is almost 10 still has clothese and accessories for her doll as her top wish for Christmas.
Canada is the land of opportunity. Due to our marriage, so far 11 people have immigrated to this wonderful country (and there are still about 15 + more to come). There have also been 6 children brought into the world so far. Due to Canada’s prosperity, every single one of us are healthy, happy and prosperous. My in-laws were able to get the health care that they so badly needed and the rest of the family were able to get very good jobs to support not only their families here, but also those stuck in developing countries.
I am so proud to be Canadian and have been for the last 29 years, almost all of my life. God bless CANADA!
Canada is a melding of our cultures and values–a place where we can teach our children to be proud of our heritages and celebrate them. I love Canada because of the choices my children will be able to make.
I came to Canada as a teenager and it literally saved my life as I did not get the same health care as I do in this country. Due to a fall I developed a severe infection in my gums that turned into little marbles of puss. The infection would have travelled to my brain and would have killed me. Thank you Canada for saving my life.
My family and I moved to Canada six years ago from a country where poverty, pollution, corruption, crime, and discrimination proliferate. We chose Canada to be our new home because we believe it’s a good place to raise our children with minimal if not free, from all the problems that beset my home country. My husband and I believe that our children will have a better access to education and presented with better opportunities here in Canada. In my country, you get a good education only if you have tons of money. I don’t mind paying my taxes in Canada because I see the road I drive thru every day is paved, my kids get free elementary and secondary education, the government putting in at least 20% of what I save for my kids education. Air quality alone is something I appreciate in Canada. Back in my home country, my youngest daughter was in and out of the hospital when she was a baby because she gets asthma attacks often. When we moved to Canada, the attacks just stopped. She is now a smart and bubbly seven year old girl for whom I want to get the Canadian Girl Maplelea Doll for. Don’t get me wrong; I don’t intend to put my home country down but only by comparing it with Canada will I let you see why I love Canada.

I wish that more kids today were interested in these more traditional toys. What a keepsake. I have a few dolls that I’ve had since I was a child that have really stood the test of time. I so love that I can travel through out the world when I say that I am Canadian there is a positive reputation that precedes me. I am proud of our nation’s policy on Human Rights and how we have presented ourselves to the world.
I love that we get to experience all the different seasons of the year to the fullest. I sometimes hate driving in the snow and being out in the cold but can’t imagine being a person who doesn’t know what snow feels like. It makes getting away in the winter to somewhere hot all that much more a treat!
I love Canada because of the seasons in the weather. I love each one because they are so distinct: Spring – the tulips and the crocuses poke up to remind us that summer is soon here; Summer – the warmth of the sun and the many fruit and vegetables that grow; Fall – nothing beats the crispness of a fall day with beautiful orange and red leaves falling from the trees; Winter – the crisp white of snow. I can’t imagine living anywhere else but Canada!

Canada is a country built by immigrants, and thus welcomes people from different parts of the world to join the country. Immigrants started coming to Canada in the 16th century. Today, if tracing back their ancestry, the majority of the Canadians are originated from places outside Canada. The only people originated from Canada are the Aboriginal people who lived in Canada thousands of years before the first immigrants arrived.

I just love the fact that we can play ice hockey, eat sushi, and just be very proud of our unique heritage. Women in particular, receive 12 months maternity leave, and are given time to raise their children and come back to a secured job. Canada has great work / life balance, free programs for children, and its great to be a mother here!!!

Hi , I love the fact that Canadians embrace many cultures and traditions. My children and grandchildren have/ will grow up tolerant, understanding and knowledgeable of others similarities and differences and by doing so be proud of the country they live in. They are after all our future.

What I love about being Canadian is the pride! From maple syrup to the Rockies, we are a proud nation. I love that my daughters get to grow up in a country that allows them to be whatever they want to be. After the grocery store tour with kindergarten yesterday, my daughter now wants to be a butcher.

I have had the very good fortune of traveling to every corner of our country with my job, and have met families from coast to coast. The best thing about Canada is our kids. Smiling faces from sea to sea to sea, representing cultures and backgrounds from all over the planet, Canadian kids with their sense of wonder and desire to take it all in – that’s what makes our country great.
I love Canada! We have such a great country in which to raise a family.
I’m very proud to be Canadian and whenever I travel abroad, appreciate just how fortunate we are.
I love Canada because of the equality, my daughter will have chances to try anything or become anyone she wants.
I’ve lived in other countries, and I appreciate the kindness of Canadians at home and abroad. I just asked my daughter what she liked about Canada and her answer was “the people”. We both love the dolls.

I love Canada because growing up it was totally normal to play hockey with the boys, play softball in the summer and roller blade all summer long. No one ever asked when I was going to play like a girl and when I would grow up.
I love that Canada is so large and that there is so much unspoiled wilderness. Our family visited the Algonquin area for the past 2 summers, and it’s great to see so much natural wilderness.

I am changing my answer after an experience I had yesterday. I love being a Canadian because where else could my 5 year old daughter have the opportunity to go up to a war vet and thank him personally, while he was eating dinner at Swiss Chalet!

There are many things that I love about Canada and much of what I love has to do with diversity. I love the beautiful scenery in our country, including the diversity of the scenery across the country. I love the diversity of the people in the city I live in, and I though there is often conflict in the public about what is acceptable, I love the fact that our laws protect people with diverse lifestyles. I am very happy and proud to be raising my daughter and my son in this country.
I also really like the Maplelea girls because their characters are physically active and show the many different interests and experiences that Canadian girls can have.
On this special day of Remembrance, I stop to give thanks and express my gratitude for living in such a wonderful country and to be able to bring up my three children where we are safe, healthy and free. Not to be taken for granted!

We are free. Our land is beautiful , yet different from coast to coast.. We have a pretty good health care system. We are multi-cultured. We have the “Highway for Heros” We have, “Terry Fox”.We are our own country but still show our respect & loyalty to Britain. We are warm & friendly people, maybe even innocent & trusting.

I have ALWAYS been a proud Canadian! This year, for my 50th bday, I had a maple leaf tattooed on my right ankle.
We are so lucky to have the beautiful lakes and mountains, and be able to breathe the fresh, invigorating air. There is nothing like it!!!
My six year old daughter keeps the brochure of the MapleLea Dolls in her bedroom. She was hoping Santa would bring her one!! She was brought up in Ontario and we have since moved to Saskatchewan. Our wish is to bring her along with her 2 younger siblings to all the parts of Canada. Heritage is important to our family and we are very proud Canadians. These dolls embody exactly what young girls in Canada are truly about.

I could not be more proud of being Canadian than I am today! My two young daughters and I attended our local Remembrance day services together. What a wonderful display of pride amongst Canadians young and old. Thank you vetrans for giving us what we so cherish and that is our freedom.
Today of all days I am especially proud to be Canadian because today is November the 11th and is Remembrance day. I am proud of all the courageous men and women who so unselfishly gave their lives and served in the war so that we are able to enjoy the priceless gift of freedom and live in a better world.
There are so many reasons to be proud of being Canadian the landscape,
the opportunities, but most of all the people.
I love the wide open spaces Canada has to offer with untouched wildnerness to be able to explore and experience. To be able to teach our children to appreciate this treasure of what the land has to offer, turning off all the electronics and gazing up into the night sky and star gazing, canoeing down the river and seeing beavers playing on the shoreline, building campfires and singing and telling stories around the fire. I love that we can share this with our children where many other countries can’t.
Canada is synonymous with peace, something that comes to the forefront on a day like today. I’m extremely proud of the beauty of our Country, our heritage, our diversity and of our people. I love that we are welcomed with open arms when we travel because of our reputation. I wave my flag proudly.

I’ve been fortunate to drive across 70% of this amazing landscape, and cannot believe the variety of terrain, culture, language and food that all coexist. I love that I am Canadian. I have my parents to thank for that. They are the ones that chose this country and to make their lives here. I could not imagine living anywhere else. I’m going to sneak in a comment about the dolls too – my daughter walks around the house with her Maplelea catalogue looking at the girls almost daily.

Well I’ve been all over canada and we’re blessed with beautiful scenery and wildlife.
I’m proud to be canadian because of our health care systems [though there are issues with that], our soilders, our diversity and culture, and just living in a country where I am able to raise my children how I see fit and make the choices I want to make.
Canada is wonderful for many reasons, but here I will list three.
Firstly for it’s beautiful and diverse scenery, we have such incredible places to see. From the majestic rockies, to the serene prairies, the picturesque lakes, and the incredible coastlines, and everything in between, we are truly blessed to be able to call Canada, home.
Secondly, we have such freedom and opportunity here compared to many places of the world.
Thirdly, everyone in Canada has access to health care (despite the problems with the system).
I wouldn’t trade living in our “true north strong and free” for anything. It’s an amazing place to raise a child, foster a family and build a career. I love that the Maplelea dolls do such a great job in reflecting Canada’s diversity–something I encourage my daughter to embrace.
I love Canada. I have lived in B.C., Alberta and Newfoundland and visited several provinces inbetween. Each province has it’s own distinct culture, landscape and experiences. When travelling this great country you really feel as though you can experience so many different countries all rolled into one and that’s what makes Canada so unique.
Even though I have lived in Ontario for over 20 years, I will always love the smell of spring in Winnipeg where I grew up. Canada is so different everywhere you go.

Being a 15th generation Canadian on my dad’s side I will say I love my “Culturally Rich” heritage as I like to call it. I love that I can tell my children the history of Canada and place my family in there somewhere.
My daughter loves Taryn and desperately wants her and the hockey equipment too! Emma is an avid hockey player and would love to see Taryn under the tree this year so she could bring her to practice as her mascot!

I served for 25 years in the CAF. I have traveled the world. I am so proud and grateful to be Canadian. We have rights and freedoms, health care, an elected government and to top it off, this is a beautiful Country. I have never wanted to live anywhere else.

We are allowed to vote for whom we want in office and then gripe when they don’t live up to our expectations 🙂 ! We sometimes take these privileges for granted but a trip to a less privileged country quickly reminds us how incredibly lucky and fortunate we are to be Canadian!

What I love about Canada is our health care system. It may not run as smoothly as we all would like, but it is still free. I also love Northern Saskatchewan lakes. The air up there is so fresh and the water is so clear that you can see right to the bottom.
My Grandafther worked on the ships to come here to this country of ours and he always used to say Scotish by birth Canadian by choice!
Here I remain grateful to this day for his amazing choice in bringing ou family here to a land as beautiful as it is diverse! He would be proud of his own Canadian lassies!(his great grandaughters!)

What do I love about Canada? Most commenters have already shared the best parts, things like diversity, equality, health care, culture, friendliness… It can be a wonderful place to raise children.
I also have, of late, really been appreciating the vastness of the country; the beauty and character of it’s diverse geographies. From the brisk, cool nature of Banff to the woodsy, lakelands of northern Ontario, to the friendly, musical shanties of the east coast and the dynamic, illuminating urban centres across the land. Just a great place to live, with everything it offers.
I love Canada because we are multi-cultural. We are free to express ourselves any way we want. Our health care is fantastic. We have fresh water, beautiful mountains and oceans.
I love Canada because of the wonderful expanse and wonder of our country. I have driven across from sea to sea twice on the Trans Canada Highway. The Rockies and Coastal mountain ranges are the most majestic natural wonders you can ever witness but then you reach the prairies where you can see for such a long distance your eyes begin to doubt the vista. Then you reach the Canadian shield and Ontario that takes two days to drive through it is so huge! Then the beautiful Quebec roads rise up and you find rest stops that are so pristine you wonder if you have been transported to another, cleaner dimension. The part of New Brunswick I drove through was straight out of a book, so many towns with beautiful country homes with wrap around porches and sun rooms. I think Canada is the greatest country to live in because you are constantly discovering new things about her and how proud I am of that. I will never know all there is to know about my country but I will cherish every moment and aspect she chooses to reveal to me 🙂
Canada is a place where everyone can state their opinion. Everyone can comment on someone elses opinion. The news can report any story. The weather is unpredictable. Government is reliable in being unreliable. Canada is home to many and many are proud to call it home.
I love being a Canadian because of our freedom. I also love the beautiful scenery in British Columbia where I live. I live near the ocean, the mountains, the islands, and the dessert. It’s a wonderful place to grow up and become old. In 2008 I had the opportunity to travel to PEI, and the East coast is just as wonderful as the West coast! There is no place on earth like Canada, from sea to shining sea!

Not a day goes by that I don’t feel immense gratitude to live in such a safe, clean place such as Canada, where we have compassion and acceptance for so many different kinds of people. My daughters can achieve whatever they want with no limits, a freedom that women in so few countries enjoy. Especially at this time of year, when we are honouring the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms, I feel there is no better place on earth to be.

hmm…I left a comment before without fully understanding what I was supposed to be commenting on…so I guess I need to update and maybe renew my glass perscription as well:) What I love about being Canadian, well, many things but probably at the top of the list is being a part of a country with such nice people. I know we are often taken to task for not speaking up for oursleves more readily however, I find it refreshing to not have to argue about everything and to have folks for the most part be nice and easy to get along with. Also, although not perfect, we do have medical coverage…just look to the south to see how many folks are sufferring without any and how hard life can be when there is no money to have necessary medical things done and no doctor will touch you without the insurance. all in all our country is a great place to live.

Right now I’m loving my health care system, as flawed as it is. I’m loving the wide prairie fields in Alberta, that I can see from my window as I type this. I love CBC’s Vinyl Cafe, The Age of Persuasion, and The Debaters. I love skating on our pond made smooth by the town’s zamboni. I love not being American.
Canada is beautiful! Cultural, ethnic and bio diversity abound! I feel safe, I don’t need to worry about healthcare and I am confident that this Country gives my kid the best shot at a happy and successful life.
