My four year old daughter’s blessed with long legs. I’d love to take credit, but I’ll give credit where it’s due and acknowledge that those genes come from the in-laws (it’s only fair since I’ll also curse them for the stubborn genes she’s got!)
What these long legs mean, though, is a real challenge in the pant department. In order to find a pair of pants long enough to cover her ankles, I tend to have to go up a size or two in the waist, resulting in a case of droopy drawers.
Bugalug to the rescue! I’ve long been a fan of this Canadian company’s no slip barrettes, headbands and ponyloops, but now they’ve launched these fantastic cinch belts in the same fun and funky patterns. The elastic’s built right into the belts so kids can pull their pants up and down without worrying about undoing any snaps or buckles (a godsend during the potty training years)!
The cinch belts retail for $18 and because they’re fully reversible; that’s like getting two belts for the price of one!
In honour of their launch, our friends at Bugalug are giving away a cinch belt and matching headband to a lucky UrbanMoms member (and if you’re not a member yet, what are you waiting for? Go join now). Just leave a comment below telling me your best tip for when you want to cinch your own belt a little more…do you drink water? eat grapefruit? do crunches? I think these belts are a great idea, how about for moms and dads, got any for our age too ??? I have three daughters whos jeans are always showing more than they should, and id love to be able to do something about it !!!
I eat my leafy greens! and cucumbers and watermelon. On top of drinking so much water!
These belts are awesome! My 3 year old daughter’s pants are always hanging off her bum! She is tall so wears size 4 pants but her waist is size 3 so we often have issues with pants falling down! I think not snacking too late/after 8pm and added some extra exercise helps keep trim
My daughter is 6 yrs old-very petite and has trouble with most her pants and shorts that require belts.
She has to pull the belts s tightly around her waist- just to get te right fit- that she looks like charlie chaplain sometimes-.
If this belt can help her- it would then sure make dressing a much fun thing than rather a hassle to her.
Weight Watcher cabbage soup is a great way to lose weight faster. I also add some hot peppers to it to try to speed up the metabolism.
I try to drink lots of water and eat better.
I try to eat a proper diet and get some exercise.
I try to eat a proper diet and get some exercise.
smaller portions, and eat more frequent meals
I try to cut out the sweets and shrink my portion sizes. Plus, I increase my water intake. Love the cinch belts!

I try very hard to cut out the sweets and cut down my portion sizes. If all else fails… I buy bigger pants! haha Love the cinch belts!
I try to go to bed at least a little hungry. (I’m a big evening snacker, so this is tougher than it sounds.)
I go to the gym twice a day for a week. I get free childcare at the gym and since I’m a stay-at-home mom, my kids are excited to hang out at the gym with other kids!
I don’t eat again after supper, no night time snacks. great looking belts. Thanks
My daughter is 8 but very tall and in size 12-14 everything because of lenght but then I find I am always trying to find her a belt that doesn’t cut into her skin and isn’t to hard for her to undo. This would be great.
I flush my system with tons of water and a couple teaspoons of flaxseed the day before I need to cinch my belt…of course a quick 30-minute workout is effective too, but it’s not easy to discipline myself to do that…
making sure to get in my 8 glasses of water a day and cutting back on portion sizes
i try to up my fiber intake as well as walk more and do an exercise dvd….
I drink lots of water and exercise every day that I can!
Looks great!
Wow! Just what I have been looking for!!!!
My 7 year old daughter is impossible to buy pants for because she is tall but so thin- she hates adjustable waists because the buttons dig into her skin- ouch!!
Belts are too tricky when a little one has to go- right now!!!!
I was thinking maybe suspenders next, but this is just sooo cool- love it!
Personally, I walk 7 km with a group of gals every school morning after drop off to keep my belt cinched!!
I drink lots of water and try to get out and walk more.
My daughter and I both suffer from the droopy pant syndrome. Since we often share accessories, a fashionable belt like this could solve the problem for both of us. To manage this in our family, I would certainly recommend purchasing two in different fabrics.
I cinch my own belt by being able to wear sizes that are junior and they come with built in elastics…my daughter so needs this product though.
When I want to cinch my belt giving up chocolate for a bit does the trick.
Those are so cute!! To help cinch my belt I do lots of cario, drink plenty of water and stay away from processed foods!
love the belt great idea. My son has the same problem with the waist on his pants being too big.
When I need to cinch my belt I go for green tea and Baji detox tea.
cut carbs and watch my salt intake.
I eat several fruits and veggies a day and drink water in the evening.

I haven’t had to cinch my belt in quite a while since I’ve had my daughter 21 months ago but when I do want to get my pants a little looser I watch what I eat and eliminate a lot of carbs from my evening. I see a difference in a couple of days in my bloating.
I know my daughter could use one, but I agree that my son is the one who really needs something. My daughter at least tries to hike up her pants, he just lets them ride. AAAHH! Me, I’m a belt or elastic waist band type gal.
I generally just wear a plain old belt and try to keep active…aquafit and soccer. I think this would be great for my daughter as well. With no hips her pants just keep slipping!
after having baby #5, i am finding that I have to work at cinching in the waist. I have gotten into a running group and hope to see the benefits (soonish would be good;). My oldest boys are involved in a running group at their school (grade 3-5) and I go down and run with them as well. I would love this belt for my 3 year old daughter who ALWAYS has droopy drawers, great idea!! good luck to all.
I just suck it in! I also have belts in all sizes – so I just keep on picking a new one out until it works! thanks!
I also cut my carb intake
my daughters (3) and sons (2) could use some of these cool things
they don’t like belts because they are hard when they need to open them fast
so neat thanks for doing a give away thats so cool
I am following Weight Watcher’s to try to cinch my waist!
My 7yr old daughter needs this – she has long legs and is very slender – not all size 8 pants have adjustable waists (love those!!) Anyway, to cinch my own waist – lots of water, lots of walking, and lots of Wii Fit! Playing outside with my kids does wonders too – takes years off as well as the pounds, ha ha!
When I start to puff up (haha), I picked up on the walking, and try to tone up.
I tend to cut down on the carbs…and eat more protein and veggies..
When I see I’m getting a bit of a tummy, I just slow down on the good stuff (and by that I don’t mean the healthy stuff, but the stuff you know is just plain bad for you). It doesn’t take long to get back the flat tummy, and when I do that’s when I start indulging all over again. And then back to slowing down…it’s a vicious cycle…lol…but this cinch belt would be great for the fluctuation in weight!!
That idea was a ‘cinch’! ;D

My daughter could totally use one of these. She is constantly showing “crack” because her pants won’t stay up! I love these.
Looks like a great product! As for cinching my own belt I load up on fruits, veggies and water.
Great idea – it is hard to find jeans that fill all body parts (ie, length, hips, waist). To fit all over, sometimes the waist is too big. This would be great for my daughter, who does not like regular belts.
I work out a minimum of 5 days per week and stuff my face with fruits and veggies. My little one age 2.5 years is so tiny and has a nearly nonexistent butt and waist so this would really help. Will it impede self pottying though?
Both my little guy and gal do the tug dance
I on the other hand use a scarf tied on the side, has a bit of give but also keeps them up
I would love to see adults with this belt as well. There is nothing more disguisting than walking behind someone with droopy drawers. With children it is a parent’s frustration…with adults it is inappropriate.
Walking, stretches & trying to have breakie every day.
i do LOTS of jumping jacks and skip rope for at least 10 minutes !
I try to cut down on the waist expander and cinch my belt by watching the volume of food I consume. It’s all about smaller amounts spread throughout the day. Although the big “holiday” meals are yummy I think we can all say that we generally eat too much and feel horrible after. Smaller portions, more often, that’s my motto!!
Super cute little belts!
for me … cutting out night time snackage …
Personally, I find that a high-fiber breakfast, lots of water and a good walk work wonders for flushing excess water out of the system!
“Pants On The Ground” oh we mothers cringe to see droopy pants, this belt would keep “pants on the butt!”
I keep my belt cinched by walking my daughters to school everyday in all kinds of weather. I refuse to drive them to school since the walk is good exercise and I don’t want them to grow up being dependant on cars. By the way, my daughter needs that belt! She cant handle zips and buttons when using the washroom school. She always reminds me she needs her “easy pants” when I am getting her ready for school.
Have to identify with this one. I have different sizes of belts for cinching but my daughter has had a low rider problem since she was a toddler. Waistbands with adjustable elastic help but they aren’t on everything. This belt is a great idea!
I am trying to cut back eating after 7 to cinch my own belt!! Not been too successful yet;-) I would love these for my last 2 girls who are a tiny 5 and a tiny 2…but are tall!!
What an excellent idea!! I love it!

This is a very neat belt; would be great if they were for boys too! My sons pants are always sliding down because he is so skinny! What a luxury for him when so many others have the opposite problem.
My daughter is always having trouble with a traditional style belt and she always needs a belt. What a great idea!
this looks so cute besides keeping those drawers from drooping would love to win this for my granddaughter
I drink lots of water !! Great belts !!
Terrific idea, terrific designs!!
My almost-5-year-old is always tugging up her pants. This looks like a great product!
awesome.
THANKS.
I couldn’t find any on their site!
okay AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! Sold!
Skulls, flames and caution tape designs….Bugalug’s taken care of the boys, too, Ali and Sara! Check out the website for cinch belts for girls AND boys!!!
I agree with Ali! Helppppp on the boys pants!
but what about for BOYS?????
it’s keeping up my poor son’s pants I have a huge problem with….
my 7 year old daughter wears size 5 pants! what a great idea. anyway, who has time for cinching? just wear hipsters! LOL
i cut carbs in the night! hard to do but effective! those belts are awesome!
