Talk about a quickie divorce!
Looks like their weekend negotiations were very productive because Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have reportedly settled their divorce today.
In a joint statement released by their lawyers, the couple said:
“We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri’s best interests. We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other’s committment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other’s roles as parents.”
Doesn’t that part about “respecting each other’s beliefs” sound like a surefire way to ensure there’s no talk about Scientology in future?
Katie’s lawyer told TMZ that “This case has been settled and an agreement has been signed. We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life.”
No further details are available at this time. Boy, this divorce was even shorter than Kim Kardashian’s last marriage!
