The celebrities and the “who’s who” came out to TIFF’s Opening Night Gala Presentation of Davis Guggenheim’s documentary (or rockumentary) From the Sky Down – a 20 year journey with the band U2. Screaming fans outside the VISA Screening Room (Elgin Theatre) greeted Bono and The Edge as they made their appearance at the screening event. Afterwards a party feted the cast and crew at the Liberty Grand event space with what looked like a thousand people including celebrities,industry people, corporate types and society people. Bono and The Edge were at the party as were many famous faces enjoying the Skyy Vodka TIFF specialty cocktails! Yours truly even gained access into the VIP areas ! A fabulous party to kick off this year’s TIFF season! Cheers to all the hard working staff and volunteers with TIFF!
Spotted at the party were Piers Handling (TIFF CEO), Cameron Bailey (TIFF Co-Director) and his super nice wife Carolynne, the super tall and gorgeous couple Ms. Universe Canada, Elena Semikina and baseballer Drew Taylor, singer K’naan, Damon Allen (CFL), Lucy Walker (Film Director),actor Geoffrey Rush, and Jian Ghomeshi (CBC). Also in attendance were Elisabeth Shue, Matt Dusk and Kardinal Offishall.
Oh no! don’t be jealous! I’m glad I can share the experience with our lovely readers like you! Bono & The Edge stayed for a while but the funniest thing was that a “look a like” showed up with probably one of the radio stations as a publicity stint. hilarious!
