My son is three. One of his (okay my) favourite tricks to do is his happy/sad face. He alternates back and forth and then we kill ourselves laughing. This is what I was thinking of after seeing more press coverage of the Royal visit to Canada AND the Royal Wedding in Monaco.
Here is Kate and Will in PEI. I am so in love with the way they look at each other and seem SO comfortable. And even though she clearly needs to eat a burger or twelve, her outfits are to die for. But what makes her so attractive is how truly, deeply, happy she looks. It’s lovely to see after years of Charles and Di and their uncomfortableness.
But then there’s the ‘SAD’. I saw this on Lainey the other day and I’m not ashamed to say, I cried. I want you to watch it and try not to. Ten years ago, I called off my wedding. If I hadn’t, I would have looked something like this as Shania Twain was singing ‘Still The One’ (don’t judge – we weren’t compatible in ANY thing let alone our musical taste). Joking aside it truly is just sad. The way she can’t keep it together and he looks enraged at her behaviour. It’s so difficult to go through that privately but she has the eyes of a country on her and this has a Chuck/Di disaster written all over it. Not sure they’ll be showing this one to the kids in years to come (well he can show it to his three other kids with his three other women).
I promise to get off the Royal bandwagon now. Okay I may gush about Kate some more. And there will always be room for Harry at the Celebrity Dish. Come on!
Nancy says
yikes.
he is stone cold scary.
Jennifer says
Yikes! My daughter was looking over my shoulder as I watched that video, and she suggested that maybe someone died on their wedding day. So sad.

Ok, so back to Will and Kate! I’m not a royalist or anything, but I can’t get enough of them. They seem so … normal. I love the way they are constantly making eye contact and seem to communicate with their eyes. I could watch them looking so happy all day long.
Jen says
Wow. The tension between them and the sadness on her face. The kiss was in slow-mo and still barely lasted a fraction of a second. This is not a good way to start a marriage.
Sara says
Isn’t it awful Christine…I’m not sure why it’s affecting me so much but I can’t stop thinking about what she must be living through right now – money doesn’t buy happiness and just because she’s living in a castle in Monaco….can’t make up for a life lost.
Tracey says
That lovely woman has made a bad choice, it seems. Oy.
Christine says
OMG the worst is when he pretty much rolls his eyes after he kisses her. And it’s slo-mo too! That poor girl.
And please – don’t NOT post about Will and Kate. I am smitten!!
