It’s so secret that I find Helen Mirren ridiculously appealing. She is just one of those women who, in my book can do no wrong. I can easily say that I have loved her since 1980-something Mosquito Coast. You know, that Harrison Ford and River Phoenix movie that no one else saw but, well, me. Also, she was in The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone, which is based on one of my favorite Tennessee Williams novellas. So, yes, I love her.
And now I love her even more.
After we saw something-or-other with her in it recently (the movie was not memorable, but she was), I said I want to be her when I grow up. She does it so well, managing to be funny, graceful, sexy, and classy, all at once. That’s all too rare a breed, that is.
That lady is Excellence personified. And yes indeed, lady… Mosquito Coast… in the theatre and at least two dozen times since. Mad love. I get it.
