I’d like to personally thank The Biggest Loser for bringing me back to the show. I gave up on last season because, well, I was just bored. And I didn’t really find anyone all that likable. BUT NOW…a twist! And it’s a good one too, especially since it’s surprising people on the show, and in different ways. So, the twist is that there are two new trainers (who are being kept a secret) and the teams had to choose door #1: to be trained by Bob and Jillian or door #2: to be trained by the “unknown” trainers BUT gain FOUR weeks of immunity. For some, the decision was a no-brainer. OF COURSE we’ll take the four weeks. That’s huge! For some, the decision was a no-brainer. OF COURSE we’ll take BOB and JILLIAN. Allison was shocked that so many people chose the unknown trainers and Bob and Jillian were shocked that so many people chose to give up the huge prize just to train with them.
The Biggest Loser 11: Premiere
I think this is gearing up to be a good season. Interestingly, two of my early favorites have both already lost weight before coming to the ranch: Arthur – who was 646 pounds and dropped 139 before the premiere – and Courtney – who lost over 100 pounds after meeting trainer Bob. I hope they both stick around a while…and that someone convinces poor Courtney to lay off on the eye makeup. (yeesh) I also really like the yellow team…Rulon – a former Olympic gold AND silver medalist – and Justin – who is, well, not a former Olympic gold and silver medalist, but likable nonetheless.
Also, ANOTHER Tongan couple? Really? Which leads me to this:
that I fully attribute to swiping from this WONDERFUL website over here. But, you guys, this is really all the information you need. If you are Tongan and you have ever wanted to be on a reality show…this is it for you.
So, Ana the postmistress gets sent home. I have no idea who she is, really, and she was kind of interchangeable with her daughter…but, you know, she actually looked really good in her post-ranch video and I hope she meets her fitness goals. I hate when early cast-offs go home and don’t lose weight.
Are you watching? Early favorites? What do you think of this whole “unknowns” thing?

I love the show. Every Tuesday night the other half and I sit and watch it. That of coarse is after I just got home from doing my 1 hour Boot Boot Camp Fitness class (oh how Epsom salts are my best friend at the moment..LOL) I like the green and aqua teams.

I’ve never seen this show (although the Australian version is on at 7 p.m. on weeknights – which of course is arsenic time for me). The winners here get to be in all the women’s (read = supermarket trash) mags. Love the graph – did you know that the biggest ex-pat Tongan community is in Australia? They play a lot of rugby and my obstetrician delivered a 13 lb baby to a Tongan mama about 2 weeks before Toby was born. It was a natural birth, ahem. Ouch!

Great graph Ali! So true and it made me laugh!
I like the Aqua team. I really hope their decision to stick with Jillian & Bob helps them and they stick around a while. Because losing 100 pounds on your own is a pretty big deal!

I liked the opera singer & her sister, looking at each other & saying “Shut up” to each other at the same time.
i couldn’t stop crying when the pink (I think) team got up on the scales & once they saw their weights the Mom just started to cry & say over & over again “I’m so sorry.” Really got me.
I like the “aqua” team too (aqua??? really??), but I’m afraid for the yellow team that they have too big of a target on their backs.
I guess what I don’t get is that as influential as Bob & Jillian are, the bigger part of Biggest Loser is actually being “on the ranch.” Being removed from the daily distractions & day to day grind of a “regular” life & focusing on the right food & exercise, is most important, not who trains you. I personally thought they were fools for not picking the 4 weeks of immunity, that is a third of the time on the ranch guaranteed.

that graph is beyond funny. I sort of watched the other night and even though I’m a reality tv addict I never had before (except for finales) but I may be hooked. Very interesting…..

oh, I know. And some of the moobs actually…um…frighten me with their…um…girth.

Omg I love my chubbies!!!
I am a die hard BL fan and my friend Laurie (from Pittsburgh) and I chat every Tuesday night while we watch it.
I love the weekly weigh-ins. It amazes me how much they can drop in a week!!! My only issue is with the manboobs…some I just do not need/want to see.
(…is that mean of me to say??)

LOVE that freakin’ graph! Hilarious. I mean, I hadn’t even heard of Tonga until the Biggest Loser.
I like the same teams as you but I also have to root for my girl “Jen” on the green team. I am seeing shades of Tara in her.
Love the new trainer twist!
