February 6, 2008 by Jen

According to TMZ.com and the Department of Mental Health and Hygiene…

Mr. Heath Ledger died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine.
We have concluded that the manner of death is accident, resulting from the abuse of prescription medications.

I’m glad I’m not the only one out there….
I check up on all the Hollywood Goods too, but there comes a moment when there is ‘too much’. Death is not what I consider a topic open for ‘gossip’. Thanks Ali for being one of the few to respect this.

What a tragic ending to a rising star and I second Holly’s wishes.

    This is just so sad.
Maybe I’m being naive, but why oh why would a dr. prescribe all of these medications to a (seemingly) healthy 28-yr old man? Not trying to place blame, it is just a very sad commentary on the state of medicine &, frankly, our society.
I echo Holly’s comments in hopes that his family may now have their private time to grieve.

i know. it’s so incredibly sad.
i’ve tried not to post too much of the sludge that’s surrounding this whole thing. my heart really aches for his family.

Sad…. may he finally rest. May his family and friends grieve quietly now.
