since it’s Friday, and since i’m still actually in St. Lucia and haven’t watched ANY tv all week (i know, are you dying??!) and didn’t even bring my laptop…so i haven’t a clue what’s going down in celebrity-ville…there will be no Friday Smackdown this week…
there will, however, be a contest! (also…be sure to come back next week…i’ll be giving away copies of the newly released DVD of Gone Baby Gone AND both copies of the dvd and copies of the book of Silk…they are both amazing!!)
but the contest today is a movie quote contest. the first person to guess ALL the quotes right wins a special Ali prize pack!! AND there will be another prize…and anyone who leaves ANY comment will be eligable to win….so, in the words of Jeff Probst…"worth playing for??"
GUESS THE MOVIE:
1. Marriage is like a tense, unfunny version of Everybody Loves Raymon, only it doesn’t last 22 minutes. It lasts forever.
2. "Carpe diem. Seize the day, boys. Make your lives extraordinary."
3. "I’m talking about millions in Kuwaiti bullion."
"You mean them little cubes you put in hot water to make soup?"
"No, not the little cubes you put in hot water to make soup."
4. "You should’ve gone to China, you know, ’cause I hear they give away babies like free iPods. You know, they pretty much just put them in those t-shirt guns and shoot them out at sporting events."
5. "What belt do you have?"
"Canvas. You like. JC Penny. $3.98"
6. "I pledge allegiance, to the band, of Mr. Shneebly"
7. "Is that how you want to play it Brooke? Becasue I can play it like that. I can play it like Lionel Richie, ‘All night long.’"
8. "Sally Dibbs. Dibbs Sally. 461-0192"
9. "What interesting china! Why it looks like young men playing leap-frog. Is it Greek?"
10. "Discovered by the Germans, in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of coarse in German means a whale’s vagina"

Doug – I did have to google that one. Carpe Diem was a given for that movie, but yours was a much more obscure quote (at least for me who hasn’t seen that movie since my impressionable youth).
