Whenever I surprise my daughter with a mother-daughter lunch and tell her she can pick the spot she always, without fail, picks McDonald’s. As the world leader in fast food there is an overwhelming amount of information swirling around about them and it is virtually impossible to get to the bottom of what is fact and what is fiction. I am excited as a mom to say that we have now taken a giant leap forward thanks to five Canadian McMoms!
Last year I had the pleasure of covering the launch of the McDonald’s Moms’ Quality Correspondents program. Five real moms from across Canada, otherwise known as the “McMoms”, were chosen to represent all of us who have ever had a question or a concern about the quality or safety of McDonald’s food, restaurants, or ingredients and get the inside scoop.
I admit, I was skeptical. Would a big brand like McDonald’s really let five regular women see the ins and outs of their operations from the farms to the front line? Well, just ask the McMoms. We are excited to launch the new Moms’ Quality Community on urbanmoms.ca. Now every Canadian mom can join the McMoms and get the information you need right from the source.
These five mothers have spent their first year as Quality Correspondents visiting McDonald’s head offices, inspecting toy safety, and getting the truth about McDonald’s foods by visiting a wide range of McDonald’s suppliers involved throughout the process. They have worked behind the counter and behind the grill to better understand McDonald’s in order to be able to report to all of us from behind the golden arches.
So, do you have a question for the moms? Want to know more about their experiences so far? Want to hear what they’ll be up to next? Visit the Moms’ Quality Community for more information. Remember, these are real moms from across Canada. They are not hired by McDonald’s. These moms take this role very seriously so feel free to ask away. If they don’t have the answer they will try and find out. I know I’m curious.

My kids always first choice is always McDonalds, even before I became a McMom… now I feel even better about indulging them. Over this past year, I have learnt (and seen) how the burers, fries, chicken, and toys are so awesome!

My kids are like your daughter – given the choice, they will usually go for the Golden Arches. I’m interested to see what the McMoms have discovered…I’ll be checking out the community for sure!
