Many, many, many, many, many, many years ago I had a seasonal job at The Body Shop between Fall and Winter semester at university. It was a few weeks of wonderful people, amazing products and crazy shoppers. I’ve had a soft spot for The Body Shop ever since.
One of the things I love most about this iconic and pioneering brand is how it has stayed current and adapted to the times. With the 21st century, The Body Shop has treated itself to a makeover and The Pulse Boutique is the result.
The Toronto Eaton Centre Body Shop unveiled its new look earlier this month and media were wowed by the changes.
My first impression was how open and uncluttered the store looked. I asked the sales associate whether there were fewer products, but she assured me that all of the same products are in the store, but that the new design does make everything appear cleaner.
Other things to love about the new boutiques:
- Energy efficient lighting means these stores use up to 25% less energy consumption than other stores.
- Story telling tables are the opportunity to showcase customer favourites’ products and teach about the ingredients.
- The Community and Values Walls are bulletin boards with information and promotion of local and global political and social initiatives.
There’s a beautiful wall of makeup that really shows off the wonderful line of skin and beauty products that The Body Shop has developed. I could play at this wall all day, and if you show up there’s always a beauty specialist that will give you a free makeover.
Body Shop Pulse Boutiques are rolling out across the country from Vancouver to St.John’s. Tell me, are you a fan of The Body Shop? Personally, I became a fan of the Peppermint Foot Lotion those many, many, many, manny years ago when I’d work all day helping last-minute shoppers find the perfect gift. I still can’t live without this. What’s your favourite product?
