When the folks at Kodak asked me to test out their newest All-in-One Printer, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect.
My daughter’s Senior Kindergarten class has just re-instituted “Show and Tell” after a full term’s hiatus. For most 5 year old kids, Show and Tell is the high point in their academic calendar, so this reintroduction was a very big deal for my daughter. She spent the weeks leading up to her special day considering, debating and rejecting various possibilities.
Finally, she came upon a plan. Show and Tell was going to fall the day after her grandparents were taking her for a trip to Riverdale Farm. She decided she’d take pictures of all the baby animals and show and tell the class about her trip. Awesome right? Except that my year old Canon All-in-One printer had run out of ink for the third time in a year. Ugh.
Sure, the printer’s the only one in our house, but I wouldn’t consider that it gets heavy duty usage. There is nothing more frustrating to me than shelling out more $$ for new print cartridges than I’d shell out for a new printer. So, so wrong.
Kodak to the rescue. And while the timing meant I was predisposed to love any printer that could create the masterpiece my daughter was looking for, the truth is I’d have loved this printer regardless.
First of all, I set it up. All by myself. With no help. In about 15 minutes. And nothing blew up. And that includes the easy Wi-Fi setup because in my fancy dancy home office there’s no room for a printer.
Also terribly cool? The Kodak Pic Flick App for photo printing from my iPhone. I’m picturing entire scrapbooks full of my Instagram and Diptic self-portraits!
Second, it’s quieter and quicker than my last printer.
Third, it’s really intuitive. The front USB port and memory card slot offer easy access and allowed for the printing of photos without a computer. I showed my daughter how to print up one photo and she went to town and did the rest all on her own.
Finally, Kodak offers the lowest total ink replacement cost with a high quality alternative to high-priced ink. Standard black ink for $9.99 people!!!
All of this means that my daughter can continue to create Show and Tell masterpieces like this, and I won’t be pulling out my hair or taking out a second mortgage for the ink cartridges!
The printer retails for under $150 and is available across the country.
