I’m a bit of a beauty product junkie. I love to hear all about the latest beauty trends online, in magazines and at the cosmetic counters.
So I know that every makeup artist and beauty expert is touting “a pop of colour” for Spring/Summer 2010. I’ve tried purple on my eyes (made me look like I’d been punched in the eye) and fuschia on the cheeks (made me look constantly embarrassed and left people wondering just what I’d done that made me blush so crazily)!
And yet I return day after day to my morning routine of “naked” eyeshadow, “nude” blush and “your lips but better” gloss. Sigh.
The lovely MAC makeup artist tried to push me outside of my comfort zone by doing up my lips in a gorgeous red/orange. I wanted to buy it (who doesn’t want lips clad in a “Rebel” shade?) but at $20 it was too much of an investment for a colour that I knew would sit in my makeup bin unused 95% of the time.
That’s why I was so excited when Joe Fresh Beauty sent me some of their new products for review. Launched last year, Joe Fresh Beauty is consistent with the Joe Fresh philosophy of offering Canadians sytlish, fresh and affordable products.
The colours mimic what’s on the runway, but won’t break the bank, so at $8 anyone can pick up the bright and cheery Poppy lip gloss
(and spend hours making duck faces in front of your computer trying to capture the essence of the colour!)
(O.K….now you know why I’m blushing!!)

Love this post! I didn’t know that Joe Fresh had their own line of cosmetics. I love their clothes; two of my favourite t-shirt are Joe Fresh. Can’t wait to check it out the next time I’m at Loblaws!

you sound like me when it comes to makeup. i like a little glam every so often but, more often than not, i end up using it for hallowe’en on my kids.
