Last summer, I fell in love. With a dress. The Vagabond dress from Anthropologie, to be exact.
It was gorgeous, looked super flattering, and THAT COLOR. It had to be mine. Sadly, it was not to be, and it was sold out everywhere. A happy ending was in store, however, when I found the dress (NWT!) in my size on eBay a few months later. It wasn’t cheap ($130), but it was, I’m happy to report, every bit as perfect as I had built it up to be in my mind. It’s swirly and slimming and subtly different, and basically, it makes me feel like Audrey Hepburn in a Degas painting, which could totally be a thing, shut up. I’m frequently complimented on it, it packs beautifully, and it effortlessly dresses up and down.
A few days ago, I was perusing the Downeast Basics site, and spotted this little number.
UM HELLO.
I couldn’t recommend the original more highly, but this? YOU MUST JUMP ON THIS. This looks to be very similar to the one above, so I can vouch for its flattering qualities. But also, THIS ONE IS LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE ($50). The blush-coral color is also gorgeous. And despite having a near-identical dress (albeit in a different color), I am very seriously considering buying this one, too. GO.
