I know it may be cruel to post a Target find here, my dear Canadian friends, but: (a) I know there are some Americans who read this, as well, and (b) this skirt is so amazing that you need to SOMEHOW GET IT. Hie thee to Ebay, or the border, or WHATEVER, is what I’m saying.
The skirt I speak of is the Zaley skirt ($24.99) from the Merona Collection.
It is unassuming, yes, but oh-so-perfect. For starters, the fit is incredibly flattering. I am a sucker for pencil skirts, and this fits WELL (it’s lined, to boot), and low on the hips. It accentuates your shape (it has a touch of spandex), but not Kardashian-ly. It’s a perfect length, too, falling (on me) mid-knee. (I’m about 5’2”, though I frequently say I’m 5’3”. I…cannot explain this.)
The true genius, though, lies in the fabric itself. It is magical, looking at times like a deep-navy-with-a-sheen, and like a dark, refined denim at others. Accordingly, it looks completely appropriate and adorable with heels and a blazer on a Monday, with flats and a cute top on Casual/Jeans Friday, AND with a tee and flip-flops on a Sunday. This is a true wardrobe staple; it’s classic, versatile, polished, and goes with EVERYTHING.
I am going to Target to (hopefully) find this RIGHT NOW!!! I’ll let you know if I do!
