Seriously Easy Makeup for The Pool/Beach/Water Park/Anywhere You Want to Look Nice When it’s the Temperature of the Sun Out There

July 5, 2011 by Metalia

Yesterday, we took our kids to a nearby water park. Before we left the house, I put on a touch of makeup. I know a lot of people may find it silly, but my simple routine takes under a minute (seriously), looks clean, natural, and LASTS, even when you are soaking wet, standing in line at high noon, waiting to ride Xtreem Zero-G Water Toob, or whatever the hell, for the 12th time. It works in humidity, heat, and — yes — even the water park, pool, or beach.

What does it take? Three simple things:
Well, four. PUT ON SUNBLOCK FIRST, Y’ALL.
Where were we? Ah, yes. Here’s what you’ll need:

1. CoverGirl Lashblast waterproof mascara. I hate waterproof mascara, and this particular one makes me…not hate it.
2. Amazing Cosmetics concealer (I am obsessed with this stuff; it’s heavy-duty, waterproof, and highly pigmented. A tiny dab goes a long way.)
3. Tarte LipSurgence (While I despise the name, it’s the best lip/cheek color I’ve ever used. It stains, but is totally blendable, and isn’t drying at all. In fact, it actually moisturizes. How does that even HAPPEN? I also live that it’s a multitasker. The product doesn’t SAY it’s a cheek stain — just a lip one — but it definitely works for both. I have this in the Enchanted shade.)
Simply apply the mascara, and gently dot on the concealer. Then, sweep the (ugh) LipSurgence on your cheeks, blend, and do the same process with your lips.
This is me, AFTER all day at the water park. See? Still (relatively) pulled together!

Great to know, especially since I am one of those people who feels more secure with mascara on (even at the beach!)

oh, wait – how do you get the waterproof stuff off? The concealer will just wash off with regular face wash, will it? But how about the mascara? (Yes, I’m clueless, why do you ask?)

OMG I’m sold. That sounds so simple, *I* might even be able to manage it, and I am primping-impaired.
Also yes with the adorable. Will have to remind myself to have realistic expectations and not expect to turn out like this, exactly!
