As well as a starfish, Mum mums, diapers, wipes and baby cream. My diaper bag contents have migrated over to my grown up purse.
Apparently gum, mints, lip gloss, hair products and hand cream are no longer a priority for this new mom. It’s a good thing the hand mirror has also been tossed out or I would see the dry skin, canary bird hair, make up free mess of a mom, that walks around with giraffes in her purse.
Now to be fair, it’s not just any old giraffe. It is Sofie, the parisan teething giraffe made in France that is a new mom essential. I had never heard of her until I came home with Roman, but as all you moms know, she is a celebrity in the mommy world.
My son is from Russia and his chewing toy from France. Even without the lipgloss, we are a glamourous global modern family.

Just today my son found a lollipop stick in his jacket pocket and said, “isn’t that a weird thing to find in a pocket?” I told him he had no idea! Pockets, purses, bags, cup holders in the car…

I still have a mermaid, 2 dinosaurs, a shark and a pack of wipes in there. You never know when they’ll come in handy!

Oh yes, the purse full of surprises. I often find a train or a page of stickers in the bottom of my purse. These items seem to always come in handy, even when I’m not with my own children. I’ve met many moms in waiting rooms that have energetic toddlers uninterested in their own toys. Pull out a train or a car, and they are entertained for a good 30 minutes.

You are not only a global family, you also seem to be representing 2 of the 5 animal kingdoms (mammals and aves – birds)! Who knew a baby bird would take to chewing on a giraffe?? XOXOXOXO

Ahhh, I remember those days. Although my purse is markedly smaller, my nails manicured and my hair coiffed my purse is still bulging but now with FOOD. Snacks for my always hungry 12 year-old son. A mother’s job is never done 🙂

I love Sophie… she’s still hanging around our house, even though my youngest is nearly four. Heh. Enjoy your squeeze toys!! (Though, your live one is way cuter!)
