Urban Mom’s Rating:
Urban Mom Tester’s Topline: Fun! This car was a lot of fun to drive. It was definitely different and funky and we garnered a lot of looks and comments wherever we went in the Ford Flex.
Urban Kid Tester’s Topline: The Ford Flex was a hit with the kids. With its very generous cargo capacity and room enough for up to seven passengers, it is a great vehicle for families on the go. But it really was the “funkiness” factor that grabbed the kids on this vehicle. It’s cool, fun to drive in and looks different from most other vehicles out there. It also boasts great family-oriented features including a great entertainment system, 7 different shades of ambient lighting and a refrigerator in the centre rear console!
Exterior Features and Style: This CUV (crossover utility vehicle) has very modern and unique styling. With its boxy lines and funky looks you will definitely feel cool driving this vehicle. Because it is so unique, I found that it provoked strong reactions in people – they either hated it or loved it. Most people loved it, but there were one or two observers who didn’t care of the styling.
Interior Comfort and Style: Because of its linear styling, there is ample space to store cargo in this vehicle, and it also boasts a very comfortable driver and passenger experience. This car has a rear-view camera which makes it easier to back up and park (it is a very long vehicle – I had the sense of driving a bus once in a while when looking in the rear view mirror). Overall, the Ford Flex is indeed a luxury vehicle on the interior. No detail has been missed and everyone from driver to third-row passenger will enjoy their ride in comfort.
Drive: This car’s sport-tuned suspension and 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine makes it a really fun ride! It is every bit as powerful as you would expect from a large vehicle with a large, powerful engine, but with none of the sluggishness you might expect. It is responsive and fun to drive, and the ample safety features (including reminders to buckle up, travel at a safe speed and obey the rules of the road) will help you rest assured that you and your precious cargo will arrive safely at your destination.
Bells and Whistles: The Ford Flex is a modern-looking vehicle that boasts no shortage of modern conveniences. From dual climate-control (in the rear seats as well) to Sirius Satellite Radio to the Ford SYNC entertainment system with 911-assist, this is truly a vehicle for the future, with no detail overlooked.
