When life got busy this past year, I basically stopped cooking. We scrounged for canned goods in the pantry, lived off of rotisserie chicken from the grocery store and prayed for a dinner invitation at someone’s house.
Then things resumed a more manageable pace. But I was so out of the groove of cooking that we were still just kind of treading water when it came to meals.
Just when we were about to lose all hope, my mom gave me a new cookbook for Christmas. It’s the Best of Bridge Slow Cooker Cookbook and it restored my interest in making good food again.
So far we tried the Pulled Pork (SO GOOD) and the Red Lentil Curry (also SO GOOD). There is something so satisfying about turning the slow cooker on in the morning then coming home to the aroma of your fragrant meal when you walk through the door.
Are you a Slow Cooking master? Or does your Crock Pot collect dust in your cupboard?

I just bought a slow cooker in the fall and I LOVE it! We’ve tried different recipes including curry lamb and it’s been a hit with the entire family. I just gotta remember to get the ingredients into the pot to start cooking 6-8 hours ahead of time!

I don’t own one… I can’t seem to find the right things to cook that aren’t very sauce-like. (My kids aren’t sauce-y like that, which is a drag…) I’m so happy it’s working out for you though! I need a kick-start to this whole meal-planning thing. I’m soooooo over cooking these days, I can’t even tell you…

I love using the crock pot as well. It’s also nice to use when you are at the ski cabin. After a day of play outside, it’s nice to have a hot dinner waiting for you.

My family is sustained by our slow cooker. I think of it as a member of our family. I guess I should give it a name!
