Thank you all for chiming in with such wonderful baby name suggestions! Of those listed, my husband and I were drawn to opposite poles of the Common vs. Unique spectrum, but we’ve got a few months to hash it out and come up with something we can both agree on.
In other news, I bought a muumuu. Not even kidding. I suppose you could call it a maxi dress but it’s got a loud floral print and it skims the floor when I walk. Total muumuu.
It’s comfortable and I feel free to be as thick as I need to be with no one really knowing for sure how big I truly am. I am a secret garden.
I have also been feeling the baby really start to move around a lot, which is reassuring and alien-like at the same time. It turns out I have an anterior placenta again (when the placenta lies on top of the uterus) and this kind of cushions me from feeling a lot of those early flutters and gurgles most women rave about. Now it’s just full-fledged elbowing and body-checking going on down there. But I love it. My husband was able to feel the baby move for the first time last night, which is always a great moment.
The pregnancy is going well and I am in those glory months where the nausea has subsided and I haven’t yet reached 300 pounds. Cherish the moments. Before I know it I’ll be a week overdue in the midst of a late-summer hear wave, crying that I busted my doctor’s scale and begging for a C-section. Looking forward to it!

We’d like to see pictures of you (instead of Homer) in the muumuu!

How did you get a photo of me in one of my maternity outfits, and WHY would you post it??? I took the cape off very shortly after the photo was taken…
Yes, I felt a lot like Homer Simpson when I was pregnant, especially the first time. It was summer in the last few months (DD was born September 1st) and I was hot and huge and felt every moment of it. I would have loved a muumuu to cover up the swollen feet and ankles (and calves and knees and thighs), you will be loving it when the warmer weather comes!

Yep, I agree I need to see it to believe it. You don’t have to wear it if you don’t want all that glory, but seriously seeing the kind of style you have and then thinking of Mrs. Roper, something in my brain is not connecting. It must be a kickin mummu or something, cause I’m sure you make it look good somehow, darn you. (just kidding I would never darn you). Besides, once I see it I’ll need the ordering details so I can get one too. I did get a really sweet find from a bag of maternity hand me downs. If I ever get my camera back I could swap pics with you. Mine has an umpire waist and strappy shoulders and barely covers my boobs (I think they actually hang out when I sleep). It has purply orangy redish flower thingys all over it and my son told me it looks like “the ocean” (probably a coral reef) and I realized with a jolt that I was the whale in the ocean! Fun times! Gotta jump on the fashion train and get me a muumuu!

You can’t tell us you bought a muumuu and not show a picture of it 😉

Muumuu? I don’t think they make them big enough to have fit my belly when I was pregnant with the twins. Most of the time, I couldn’t stand the feeling of anything on my skin, like it wasn’t tight enough already!!! So yeah, towards the end of my pregnancy, the last two months anyways I mostly sat around either in my underwear or butt naked. I’m sure I looked like a big beached beluga but I was comfy and cool…
