the unsexy, the unfun, and the uninteresting things I buy for myself

first there was this furnace

then there was this A/C unit-

now this fabulous and romantic sump pump battery back up

followed by the removal and switch over of some remenant knob and tube wiring (wildly jealous?)
knob and tube.jpg
happy birthday to me
I hate being an adult
stay tuned- my washer dryer are chatting in the night about how fun it would be to break down together and my driveway needs paving.
(surely this tragedy explains why I stayed out till 3 am last night. A girl has to find a way to laugh and misbehave after so much unfun)

I think I might need to hear about your brick job, grumbler. I paid 1200 this morning for a battery for my sump pump. *sniff*

I’m a little jealous of the replacing the knob and tube, actually… I still have some!
And you did choose a pretty sexy furnace, all sleek-like.
But yes, I hear you. Wouldn’t it be nice to spend that on something less severely practical?

Boo! Hiss!! I loathe having to part with my monies for such things too, Village. Ack. 🙁
At least your “shelter” will be working well… won’t likely have to touch any of that stuff again anytime soon! (Right?!)

sexy furnace! i know how you feel. it’s really hard showing off our $14,000 flat roof overhaul and feeling all giddy about it. i guess on the bright side is that because of said overhaul we still have a house that is standing! 🙂
