You are probably not thinking about a fall getaway BUT I have a deal that you might want to consider.
This is something very exclusive for AIR MILES Collectors and I am going to share it with all of you and if you do not belong to the program you can join at no cost and take advantage of this deal.
Ok, so the deal is a 40% discount on an Exotic Eastern Caribbean cruise with Carnival Cruise Lines. Plus you will receive $100 USD shipboard credit per stateroom booked for you to spend on your cruise!
The cruise leaves from Fort Lauderdale on Saturday November 29th and returns a week later on Saturday December 06th.
The itinerary:
This is a nice mix of “Sea days” and “ports of call” so that you are not too busy.
Here’s some information about the ports of call.
San Juan
Historic San Juan, once nothing more than cobblestone streets and the distinctive architecture of the Spanish who founded it, is now a modern world capital. Among the peaceful shaded courtyards and commanding colonial fortresses of El Morro and San Cristobal, you’ll find a cosmopolitan city of wide boulevards, lively cafes, highly regarded galleries and designer boutiques. This is where the old world meets the new – and you can enjoy them both.
My personal thoughts – It’s such a culturally rich city, and it somehow finds the perfect mix between it’s traditional and modern diversity. A great city to walk around in and on this itinerary you are there at night which is really nice.
St. Thomas
Not all of St. Thomas’ treasures are buried. Most of them are right in the open on this gorgeous island, home of the infamous Bluebeard’s Tower. Whether looking for jewels, crystal, perfume and fine wines in the shops of Charlotte Amalie, or soaking up the sun on the incredible beaches, you’ll marvel at the wealth of history on this treasure-filled paradise.
My personal thoughts – WOW! I have been to this island twice and have loved it every time – if you are into snorkeling there are a lot of excursion options for you to spend the day in their beautiful waters – you won’t want to leave!
La Romana, Dominican Republic
Located in the southeastern tip of the Dominican Republic and 60 miles east of Santo Domingo. This city was built by the sugar mills before it started to blossom as a resort area. About 1 mile from the famous Casa de Campo Resort, this small city has some of the finest golf courses found in the Caribbean. White sand beaches in La Romana are also one of the city’s main attractions.
My personal thoughts – I have not been to this part of the Dominican Republic but I do know that in general, the Dominican Republic gets very high praise for its friendly, warm-hearted atmosphere and its beautiful sugar-white sand beaches.
Nassau
What makes Nassau so special? Picture an idyllic place with stretches of perfect white-sand beaches, gracefully swaying coconut palms offering oases of shade, and warm, crystal-clear waters revealing the secrets of incredible multi-colored marine life. Whether you spend the day shopping for duty-free gifts and mementos, taking a carriage ride past sorbet-colored buildings, or touring in a glass-bottom boat, chances are you’ll leave this happy place in the Bahamas with lots of beautiful memories.
My personal thoughts – great shopping and you can come and go from the ship easily because everything is close to the ship. Why not take a side trip to Paradise Island? The beaches are amazing and nothing beats walking around Atlantis. The yacht marina, the foyer, the marine habitat, there are so many interesting sights here the whole family will enjoy.
Days at Sea
Days at sea can fit every traveler’s needs, they can be perfectly relaxing or filled with activities. You can hang out at the pool, book something special for yourself at the spa, do a spinning class, buy some art, play games or read a book. The kids will love the pool, water slide, basketball courts, mini golf…and of course there is always Camp Carnival, Circle “C” or Club O2, all of which have terrific activities for children of all ages.
Some of the features of the ship:
This offer is on Carnival’s newest, largest and most innovative ship to date, CARNIVAL SPLENDOR, and includes staterooms with flat screen TVs, a spectacular 21,000 sq foot, two-level spa and gym facility, 5,500 square-foot children’s playroom and a mid-ship pool with a two-deck high Sliding Sky Dome where you can enjoy a Seaside Theatre.
