One of my favourite books by the same name has chapters on each of the following and actually although the book is bang on and well worth reading, you really only need the titles of the chapters.
1.It doesn’t matter
2.Nobody is thinking about you
3.Let bad enough alone
4.Ignore your enemy or kill him
5. Boo yourself off the stage (be the first to admit when it is going badly)
6. Yes you did
7. After age 30, it is unseemly to blame one’s parents for one’s life
8. If something is boring you, it is probably you
9. Stay clear of anyone -other than a clergyman- who refers to God more than once in a hour
10. Listen for the word “great” (it is never meant well)
11.Listen for the question “what are you talking about?” (they always know perfectly well what you are talking about. So respond accordingly)
12. Appearance is frequently reality
13. Pursue virtue but don’t sweat it
14. Strife is better than loneliness
14. Never miss an opportunity to do nothing
15. Just because the person who criticizes you is an idiot doesn’t make him wrong
16.Envy no one, ever
17. It’s not about you
18.Never work for anyone more insecure than you.
19.Never think on a vacation
20. Change no more than one-eighth of your life at a time
21. Never do it for the money
21. Apologize, reconcile and give help
My personal favourite which I will ignore-
22. That couldn’t be a book

Age is just a number…

So far, my favourite is don’t try too hard to hold on. You’re better off admitting that you’re older than you were, because the people who try to continue to look like they did and act like they did two decades ago tend to look and act like fools.
