As I previously mentioned, I am trying to love to run. I have joined a running clinic and due to travel and ice and quite frankly, not liking it or being good at it, I have only been out for a few runs. Today I joined the clinic for our Thursday morning 8 km and all I can say is
holy moly jiggly wiggly back of the bus
I hung back from the group- not because I am modest or cool or even a tortoise rather than a hare. Hello. I have been on my squishy tushy for 10 days.
During the run, I felt every Red Stripe, bammy, festival, lobster, saucy sauce, goopy soup, birthday cake and glass of red, glass of white.
Interestingly, while I was away I got constant emails from our not an ounce of body fat running coach saying “THIS WEEKEND YOU ARE DOING AN 9KM RUN”
no actually I am sitting on my butt
or “TODAY HILL TRAINING WITH COMBINED INTERVAL SPRINTS”
no actually, butt expansion training with combined interval chips, dip and cold beer
A challenge is doing something you like well. A super challenge is doing something you hate well.
Is there anyone who can tell me when I am going to come to love running?
Or is the trick that no one actually loves it but that they love how they feel when it is OVER?
Nancy says
yes music!!!!!It makes me forget! what is on your playlist?
Racheal says
I hate running, but I love what it does for me physically, and that’s the real motivation. Music makes a big difference when it comes to putting that 1st foot in front of the other, & I have a few different playlists to help kick my…you know what.
Nancy says

Robyn says
I feel like I could love running if I ran….
Does that make sense?

Nancy says

DesiValentine says
I love to run, but I had to build up to it. When it’s bad, it sucks ass. But when it’s good? It’s like FLYING! Finding someone to do a goal race with really helped me. Good luck!
Aileen says
I too hate the running. I keep trying and not continuing. This year my trainer is convinced I will do a 5k in June and a 10k in September. We shall see… Very interested to hear your progress.
Tracey says
We’ll fine a nice man with lovely hands to do the driving alongside you…
Nancy says
Because it is so darn hard to smoke the cigar, and drink the wine while we run……..
Tracey says
I wish I could help you with this. HATE the running. HATE. But good luck!!
Nancy says

The only thing I like about running is my girls – I, hello there, I was way behind you looking at your jiggly (not) backside so you were definately not the back of the pack. Seeing your beautiful pink jacket this morning on a dull, yucky day is why I showed up. That and didn’t you just want that Chris to come and rub your muscles all over.
