Baby it’s cold outside! Amazing song and so truthful for this ridiculous winter. Bright spot? Next weekend is FAMILY DAY! Why did it take them so long to stick a long weekend into February? Seriously.
Barring any massive snowstorms, Will and I are hitting the 401 and heading to the land of poutine and steamies. Montreal. We’re going to visit Tracey and her family (if the Madame survives that long – Ava Scarlett, keep your hands out of the damn paint!!).
BUT. We’ll be motoring back down the 401 on Monday and heading right to Yonge and Dundas Square for the The Sears Great Canadian Chill. Chillers will leap into a freezing cold pool of water to raise money for the fight against childhood cancer. It is such an important cause. I just may make the leap for my niece Olivia who survived a Wilms tumour very early in her young life.
The Chill happens on Sunday, Feb. 17th from 3:00 to 6:00 and Monday the 18th from 12:45 to 4:00 pm. BUT you don’t have to take the plunge! You can just head down to the Square to support the others and enjoy games, activities, live entertainment and refreshments for the whole family! What an awesome way to spend Family Day!
Prizes will be given out to the top fundraisers and those in the best costumes. Hmmm, after my weekend in Montreal maybe I can dress as poutine? A St. Hubert chicken?
Anyway – if you want more information on the event, go to www.thechill.ca or their Facebook page! Head down to Yonge Dundas Square and join the fight against pediatric cancer!

Can’t wait to see you!! And if Madame’s hands get anywhere near paint before you arrive, you will take her back with you, and dunk her in the frigid waters. It’s for a good cause, right?
Wouldn’t it be great to eradicate cancer…!!
