We’re off! The road trip begins at 3pm today – after I’ve gone over my ‘to bring’ list a 1,000 times. To me though there are only three essentials. Passports, dvd player and headphones. All week I’ve been prepping Will at how cool it is to wear headphones. In my dreams we sail happily down the highways – Will watching Disney movies and me singing along to the Avett Brothers. In reality? Who knows…I’ll let you know once we hit NY.
The last big road trip we did was to Sutton, Quebec (Will’s namesake) for my grandmother’s memorial service. Check out how small the boy was. He was one. It was HELLISH. That cooler was filled with beer for my sister and I to chug immediately on arrival. There was a massive traffic jam and everyone’s patience wore thin quickly. I also believe it was the sole time Will crapped in the bathtub. Nominee for Sister of the Year went to mine, who just shooed me out and took care of it.
Here’s hoping this trip will be slightly more peaceful.
I’m excited to introduce Will to some people who have only met him virtually and spend quality time with a few of my favourite buds. And, call me crazy, I’m really looking forward to a bulk amount of time with my boy. (We will revisit this last statement in two weeks).
Adios!

I admire and covet the road trip so much. It is the best ‘vehicle’ for adventure and life chats. I REALLY admire the single mom road trip. REALLY. Good for you Sara. Tell us all about it
