Your Chance to See Disney On Ice!!

February 14, 2012 by Sara

Will and I are down in Florida.  I considered going to Disney but I’m going to put it off for a couple of years.  It’s such a magical place that I want him to be a bit older to marvel in all it has to offer.

There’s just something about Disney.  It’s almost like Santa.  You can’t explain what makes children go nuts for it – but they just do.  Currently for Will, anything Princess makes him stop dead in his tracks.  So instead of going to Disney this year, we’re going to go to the Rogers Centre in March and catch the Disney On Ice Dare To Dream!
And we at UrbanMoms want you to go to!

Cindy and Prince_D32_600x480.jpg

This new show brings together characters from Tangled and The Princess and the Frog.  Of course, Cinderella will be on hand.  Experience the beauty, sparkle and spirit of Disney On Ice!
All you need to do is this.  Leave a comment below telling us about a frog that you had to kiss before you found your prince!  Get it? (or if like me…you’re still on the frogs…just tell me about one).  You and your family could win 4 tickets to a Disney On Ice show!  (March 14 – 18 – you pick!)
Good Luck!
If you want to purchase tickets…we’ve got a deal for you as well!  Just use the code MAMA when you’re buying – you can get 4 tickets for $44 (Mon – Thurs) or $4 off a weekend ticket!

I did kiss a few frogs before I found my Prince Charming. The interesting fact to this is that my Prince Charming is fascinated with frogs( the green ones) as I am. We both enjoy watching this fascinating little creature.

I luckily only had one frog before I found my Prince! That frog was too attached to his mommy frog and it could never work out for us! 15 years later, he’s still very much attached to his mommy frog! πŸ™‚ And i’ve been happily married with three little ones to my Prince! πŸ™‚

Its not easy being green as Kermit would say.
My husband was a persistent frog. Frogs are really hard to find.
They get a bad rap. However they are so necessary for our healthy environments.
My husband can be a noisy as a bull frog, single focus as a frog after a fly yet, as a frog provides a healthy environment for our family.

With my past experience, the phrase “3 Times A Charm” comes into full effect. I have been engaged twice before finding my very own knight and shining armour. Because I am a leo, I tend to be a little more sensitive and passionate when it comes to relationships. However, finding my husband was a dream come true. We met on a vacation I took back home with my family. He was a family friend. He was strong, caring, and compassionate. It was love at first sight – one year into knowing each other, we knew we were meant to be, and he asked my father for my hand in marriage. Together, we have 3 beautiful munchkins who are the most beautiful thing in the world. A true fairy tale come true…

Sadly I think we all have to experience the ‘frogs’ that are not a good match for us before we find our prince.
I had to go through a tumultuous marriage before I found the prince that makes me feel beautiful everyday.

The “frogs of the past” never really met my parental approval. My parents were unhappy if they didn’t treat my like I deserved to be treated. Ie – opening the door, nice manners, etc. When I met my true prince, my parents were so happy – they loved every bit of him as much (and sometimes more) than me. He’s a true gentleman and was worth the wait.

My ex-husband was my frog. 13 years together through highschool and an amazing son (the one good thing that came out of it). He turned to a life of drugs, lying and sneaking around. It was devastating for my son and I. When I never thought I would find love again, I found my prince and current wonderful hubby! Its been 10 years and we couldn’t be happier!

One of my past ‘frogs’ who was cruel and insulting and abusive just asked to be my ‘friend’ on facebook ! Seriously !! Thank goodness my Prince charming saved me from that mistake 12 years ago. Now raising our son to never be a frog, and our daughter to choose carefully πŸ™‚

  38. berrybling says

    February 15, 2012 at 2:20 pm

Well I think we’ve all had our share of frogs before finding our Princes πŸ™‚ I dated my frog for 5 years (foolishly believed I could transform him into a prince) – also discovered that I’m no fairy godmother either… darn! In the last year of our relationship he became irrationally jealous, obsessive and controlling (I later learned he was cheating). In the last couple of months of our ‘relationship’ – he stole my credit card on numerous occasions taking out small cash advances at a local bar (he later told me he did this so I wouldn’t notice). By the time, I received the bill in the mail, the card was maxed and our relationship was over (found out about the cheating first)…. so I never saw the money or the frog again. Little to pay for having someone like that out of your life…
Irony: today he is a police officer…

One frog that I foolishly kissed asked me (after the kiss) if I knew that both my daughter and I sound like trolls. He had seemed like such a nice person but that comment really hurt, especially since he also included my daughter. Anyway, I like our voices, perhaps he just needs to get his ears checked!

    FROG ROSTER
    1) Mr. I Need to Pay for Everything & Make Sure You Know My Family is Wealthy
    2) Mr. Immature & Incapable of Telling The Truth 90% of the Time
    3) Mr. Professional Student with No Direction – No Degree Completed (8 years & still counting after we broke up) or Intent to Stop Avoiding the Whole *Growing Up* Thing (disclaimer: this does not apply to people in post-secondary who are aiming to achieve their goals and prepare for the future)
Even when it did not seem worth the experiences, the frogs help define what you absolutely do not want in future candidates. Luckily, I found my Prince Charming!

Yes, just after graduating highschool I met a frog who liked to put frogs in my coat pocket, picked me up for a date at the movies with a bike, (I had to get my mom to drive us to the theatre), he had a big wart on his forehead, and then he tried to kiss me while we were walking about 10 km home on that first date, blech! There was no second date with this frog! Thank goodness I am now married to my prince!
