I was reading the paper today and was just crushed, overwhelmed with despair actually, over the news that 17 year-old Miley Cyrus and her boyfriend are taking a ‘break’. WTF?!?!?!? A break? News reports over a 17 year-olds ‘relationship’. Seriously??? Now Ali is our resident celebrity ‘Juicer’ but I couldn’t not weigh in on how utterly ridiculous this is.
I heard earlier this week that she bought a house, next to her parents, and that her crazy hot boyfriend had moved in with her. Okay sorry but 17? I know I was a late bloomer but at 17 I was worrying about whether or not some dude would talk to me in math class, not whether he would clean up his crap in the bathroom.
As per my earlier post this week, I won’t judge her parents for this – as Will would say ‘owie, owie, owie’ (that’s me writhing in pain as I bite my own tongue).
I wasn’t allowed to have boyfriends stay over, let alone sleep in bed with me, until my mom got sick and even that got me the death looks from my siblings as they weren’t allowed the same when they were younger. And I honestly was uncomfortable about it and I can assure you dad, that NOTHING ever happened.
I used to live over the garage at my parents place and one night a bunch of friends stayed over. At about 5am, my then boyfriend went down to the kitchen to get some water, in his boxers, and walked right into my dad. He mumbled something and retreated back to the garage. I gather my dad went up and started ranting to my mom about it who said ‘I can guarantee you there is a bunch of kids up there’. I immediately sent other people down to say good morning to my dad to cover this. Dudes – I was 25 YEARS OLD and I still felt I was disrespecting my parents.
Hey gossip writers and news outlets – yes, sadly, I do want to know if Al and Tipper split or Susan and Tim – that to me is at least CLOSER to newsworthy. But the lovelife of a teenager? Leave it to Tiger Beat (which I used to looove) but not CNN.
Oh and Miley? I know you’re a rockstar (ughhhh) and live the life of an adult but dude – you have a lifetime of men ahead of you. And trust me…the ones you like at 17, you won’t want them when you’re 40. Sell your house, move home, put some freaking clothes on and enjoy being a kid. Oh and while I have your attention – will you &^%ing stop chewing gum during your interviews because it’s bloody rude. Didn’t your parents…ow, ow, ow, god my tongue will be bitten off at this rate.
I could really care less about Miley Cyrus’s love life. Although I must admit that I do care about other celebrity couples. Every time they break up, and they always do, it bothers me. I wonder if their marriage can’t stand the test of time, will mine?

Oh no dude – make no mistake…I looooooooooooooove celeb gossip but I do think the stuff about the teen love….it’s just sort of bizarre. But listen – WHen Halle and Gabrielle broke up – I wanted to hear all about it – why – who knows? But I did.
I am going to come clean here…I am ashamed to say it but…I do care! I can’t stop myself. It is like a car wreck. I can’t help but rubber neck even though I don’t want to look. But based on the popularity of Ali’s Juice I don’t think I’m alone 😉 Phew, glad that’s off my chest.
I couldn’t agree more about this but really, how is a 17 y/o supposed to be a regular teen when living the life of a mega-star? This is why these kids lose it and go all bonkers when they grow up.
Oh, and I was ENGAGED to my husband and we couldn’t sleep in the same ROOM at my in-law’s place. At 17??!! No freakin’ way would my parents have let this silliness go on.

When I was 25 I had already been married for a year and we were living with my parents until our first house was built.
And I got pregnant with Cam in THEIR house! Hahaha!
Miley has been turning into a bit of a diva lately. I used to respect her for being able to keep it together and hold her own with the likes of Letterman and Regia & Kelly, but lately she’s been quoted saying some pretty stupid things.
Oh and People just put up an article saying she did not break up with him. Never. EVER!
