I have a few unhealthy pop culture addictions. The first and foremost being my ridiculous additiction to reality tv. It has somewhat subsided, what with having to give up everything other than basic cable…ahhh so long Little People, Big World – how I miss you Say Yes To The Dress. It does continue with music and dating shows though. Today, I bought two singles off iTunes from American Idol contestants and I own a full album from a guy from Rockstar Supernova (Ryan Starr…sorry I love him).
My other pop culture addiction are gossip websites. My personal faves – DListed (hands down – no contest); JustJared; Lainey; Perez… everyday I browse them and laugh, sigh, noooo and awww. Halle and gorgeous hot piece of man Gabriel Aubrey break up – nooo! Sandy adopting a baby – awww. Lindsay posing with a gun in her mouth – sigh. And this story, which made me laugh and yell WTF?!?!??!

Seriously – no seriously – wtf! Apparently there is a whole syndrome known as Genetic Sexual Attraction which occurs when people, who are close blood relatives but never meet until adulthood, become attracted to each other. Hmm, as a mother to a donor child, I ain’t gonna lie, this freaks me out a bit!* But let’s remove that from the equation and take a moment to think about Pearl and Phil, grandmother and grandson, who are now expecting a child together via surrogate. Here is where I call BS to this story – how can she still have eggs??? My doctor warned me about egg quality at 40…umm Pearl is 76??? (Can you imagine being a mother at 76! At 76, I look forward to rounds of golf, napping guilt free in the afternoon and not having to wax).
Michael at DListed suggests your grandma should be making you a warm apple fritter on a cold day instead of….well, you get the picture, and I agree!
And NO – this isn’t Pearl!! This is my granny (at 102 if you please) holding Will! I thought a cute picture may remove the ‘ick’ factor from your day!
*Happy Friday! I do hope for those of you who aren’t 100% on board with my sense of humour yet – I am joking about this point. I have enough to worry about without thinking that Will will fall in love with a half sister at a kegger during Frosh Week.**
