You may have heard of the wildly popular Goosebumps series that has sold over 400 million books worldwide in 32 languages. The series was first introduced in 1992 by children’s book author R.L. Stine. Now, get ready because we’re about to leap from the pages and onto the big screen.
In the Goosebumps movie, teen Zach Cooper and his mom, move from the big city to a small town. His mom is the vice-principal at his new school. Making new friends is hard enough but add your mom into the mix and how can anything be weirder! But what’s up with the girl who lives next door? Hannah is definitely mysterious and Zach quickly learns that her unwelcoming dad is R.L. Stine!
As the story unfolds in the strangest ways, Zach enlists his new friend Champ, to find out what’s going on at the house next door. He quickly learns that Stine holds a dangerous secret: the creatures in his famous stories come to life as Zach accidentally unlocks the guarded books. It’s now up to Zach, Champ, and Hannah and Stine to team up to try to get the creatures back where they belong before they completely demolish the small town.
Goosebumps is full of unexpected thrills with a few twists. It’s a great way to get into the spirit of the Halloween. If you, or your kids, haven’t read the books don’t be surprised if you find yourself heading to the library after the film! For fans of R.L. Stine, it will bring back all sorts of memories from the series!
