Well well well. Another cloudy and windy weekend (so far).
What a surprise.
It wasn’t a complete bust. Here again is one of those incidences where we celebrate the small things.
This morning Cuyler jumped into the pool completely unassisted for the first time.
Ever.
His (amazing) instructor has been trying to get him to do this for months. Today he was ready. And for the first time – I did not have my camera with me. Boo.
More good news – his instructor informed me today the he is able to support Cuyler in a camp program I wanted to put him in. I can’t even describe what a relief this is. Finding someone who clicks and meshes with Cuyler and that we trust with him is not easy. I was dreading summer and not having anywhere to send him for a week or 2 but problem solved! This guy has been working with Cuyler in the pool for a few months now and Cuyler really likes him. The way he communicates with Cuy and engages with him is amazing. The aquatics program is allowing him to work in camps for however long we want him. I guess that’s a bonus of living in a small town.
When we got home, I found my camera and uploaded the pics. And found some more surprises. This was my fave of his many self portrait this week:
Lately Eva has been wanting some of Cuyler’s gfcf lemon cookies. They’re yellow. And they’ve reminded me of what a truly adorable voice she has. I know that every toddler/preschool says it the same way but humour me and tell she she’s got the cutest little voice.
And lastly. Please tell me that I’m not the only one suffering through the evolution of the armpit fart. Just when I thought licking their palms and pumping their elbows was gross enough they go and figure out a way to make it sound a little more authentic by doing half the work to get it. It kinda looks like he’s playing the bagpipes…

(For those wondering – he has a bendy juice-box straw tucked into his armpit)

I LOVE “lellow”! My daughter, at seven, still says “cloe” as the singular for “clothes”. For example, pointing to her shirt, “is that my cloe?” Love. It.
