There has been an incredible recipe racing around the internet this month for brownies topped with raw cookie dough batter. My wife made it clear that she was changing the locks unless I made these for her.
As expected the brownies were unbelievably delicious, but I know a lot of you do not have the time or patience to step through a recipe making brownies, cookie dough and a drizzle topping from scratch.
Chef Dad shortcut: whip the brownies together from a store-bought package, and skip the fancy topping for a quick sprinkle of chocolate chips. Half the work, half the hassle, all of the scrumdidlyumptious goodness!

(Even Easier) Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownies
Adapted from RecipeGirl.com
Serves: One. Who are we kidding? You won’t want to share these.
Prep Time: 30 min + cooling time
Cook Time: 25 min
Ingredients:
1 package fudge brownie mix
Cookie Dough (egg free):
3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
3/4 cup granulated white sugar
3 tablespoons milk
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups mini chocolate chips
Preparation:
- Prepare the brownies as per directions on package. Remove brownies from oven and allow to cool completely.
- Prepare the cookie dough: In a medium bowl, use an electric mixer to combine butter, brown sugar and white sugar. Mix in milk and vanilla. Mix in flour just until combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
- Spread cookie dough over the cooled brownies. Refrigerate until the dough is quite firm.
- Use a sharp knife to cut the brownies, sprinkle with some additional mini chocolate chips. These brownies are best to serve placed inside cupcake papers and served with a fork.
